Abstract

The documentary film "Nisan Tanpa Keadilan" tells the story of the Kanjuruhan Tragedy, which occurred on October 1, 2022, during a match between Arema FC and Persebaya Surabaya at the Kanjuruhan Stadium in Malang, resulting in the deaths of 135 people and serious injuries. This research discusses the representation of legal injustice in the documentary film "Nisan Tanpa Keadilan." The aim of this research is to understand the denotative, connotative, and mythical meanings of the representation of legal injustice in the documentary film "Nisan Tanpa Keadilan." This research uses a constructivist paradigm with a qualitative approach. The method used in this research is Roland Barthes semiotic analysis. Roland Barthes semiotic model identifies signs through three meanings: denotation, connotation, and myth. From the results of the research, the representation of legal injustice in the documentary film "Nisan Tanpa Keadilan" can be summarized in terms of denotative, connotative, and mythical meanings. The denotative meaning that emerges in the eight scenes in the documentary film "Nisan Tanpa Keadilan" provides a concrete depiction of the legal injustice that occurred in the Kanjuruhan tragedy. The connotative meaning of this film adds emotional elements and social criticism, depicting the struggle, disappointment, and sense of injustice felt by the victims. The mythical meaning of this film reflects the struggle and hope of the families of the Kanjuruhan tragedy victims in seeking justice and illustrates a distorted reality within the legal system, where the truth is often buried by political interests and economic power, and the voices of ordinary people like the victims and their families are often ignored.

Ketika berlangsungnya pertandingan antara Arema FC dan Persebaya Surabaya di Stadion Kanjuruhan, Malang, yang menyebabkan kematian 135 orang dan luka-luka serius. Penelitian ini membahas tentang representasi ketidakadilan hukum dalam film dokumenter “Nisan Tanpa Keadilan”. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui makna denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos tentang representasi ketidakadilan hukum dalam film dokumenter “Nisan Tanpa Keadilan”. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivis dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis semiotika model Roland Barthes. Semiotika model Roland Barthes ini menunjukkan tanda-tanda melalui tiga makna yaitu denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, representasi ketidakadilan hukum pada film dokumenter “Nisan Tanpa Keadilan” dapat disimpulkan dalam makna denotasi, konotasi dan mitos. Makna denotasi yang muncul dalam kedelapan scene dalam film dokumenter "Nisan Tanpa Keadilan" memberikan gambaran yang konkret tentang ketidakadilan hukum yang terjadi pada tragedi Kanjuruhan. Makna konotasi film ini menambahkan elemen emosional, kritik sosial yang terjadi, memperlihatkan perjuangan, kekecewaan, dan rasa ketidakadilan yang dirasakan oleh korban. Lalu makna mitos film ini mencerminkan perjuangan dan harapan keluarga korban tragedi Kanjuruhan dalam mencari keadilan serta menggambarkan sebuah realitas yang terdistorsi dalam sistem hukum, di mana kebenaran seringkali terkubur oleh kepentingan politik dan kekuatan ekonomi serta suara-suara rakyat kecil seperti para korban dan keluarga korban tragedi Kanjuruhan seringkali terabaikan.
