Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang menggunakan model ARIAS (Assurance, Relevance, Interest, Assessment and Satisfaction) terdapat siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung (Direct Instruction). Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen yang berbentuk non equivalent control group design. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengaan menggunakan teknik Purposive Sampling. Sampel yang terpilih adalah kelas IVA sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas IVB sebagai kelas Eksperimen yang mendapat perlakuan dengan menggunakan model Arias. Berdasarkan pengolahan data pretes diperoleh nilai rata-rata siswa kelas eksperimen sebesar 62,7 sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 61,5. Dari hasil uji beda rerata nilai kelas pada taraf signifikan=0.05 diperoleh = 0,01dan = 1,989. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS sebelum diberikan perlakuan adalah tidak terdapat perbedaan. Setelah pembelajaran, kedua kelas diberikan postes.
