Abstract

This research discusses the adaptation of the novel 12 Stories Glen Anggara into the film 12 Stories Glen Anggara and its suitability as teaching material in high school. The aim of this research is to describe the ecranization process found in the characters, plot and setting in the novel 12 Stories Glen Anggara by Luluk HF and the film 12 Stories Glen Anggara and to describe the suitability of the novel 12 Stories Glen Anggara by Luluk HF. as literature teaching materials in high school. The research method used is descriptive qualitative and comparative literature. The elements of novels and films compared in this research are characters, plot, and setting in space and time. The data source in this research is the novel 12 Stories of Glen Anggara by Luluk H.F. and the film 12 Stories of Glen Anggara directed by Fajar Bustomi. The results of the analysis of the novel and film 12 Glen Anggara Stories show changes. The ecranization of the characters in the novel into the film 12 Stories of Glen Anggara shows the addition of 2 characters. Furthermore, the ecranization process in the background consists of 4 reductions, 2 additions and 3 varied changes. Then, the ecranization process in the flow experienced 47 reductions, 45 additions, and 16 varied changes. Reduction occurs because films have limitations in conveying all the contents of the novel and ecranization films tend to show important parts, which support all elements of the story. Additions also occur to add to the attractiveness of the film's atmosphere and story concept, but the additions are not so far that they forget the novel. Variations of change are also seen in the film as another form of expression from the director in translating his novel. The novel and film 12 Glen Anggara Stories also fulfill important aspects in selecting teaching materials, namely language aspects, psychological aspects and cultural aspects. Thus, the novel and film 12 Stories of Glen Anggara are suitable as literature teaching materials in high school.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini membahas tentang ekranisasi novel 12 Cerita Glen Anggara ke dalam film 12 Cerita Glen Anggara serta kesesuaiannya sebagai bahan ajar di SMA. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan proses ekranisasi yang terdapat pada tokoh, alur,dan latar dalam novel 12 Cerita Glen Anggara karya Luluk HF dan film 12 Cerita Glen Anggara serta mendeskripsikan kesesuaian novel 12 Cerita Glen Anggara karya Luluk H.F. sebagai bahan ajar sastra di SMA. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif serta sastra bandingan. Unsur-unsur novel dan film yang dibandingkan dalam penelitian ini adalah tokoh, alur,serta latar ruang dan waktu. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah novel 12 Cerita Glen Anggara karya Luluk H.F. dan film 12 Cerita Glen Anggara sutradara Fajar Bustomi. Hasil analisis novel dan film 12 Cerita Glen Anggara menunjukkan perubahan. Ekranisasi pada tokoh dalam novel ke film 12 Cerita Glen Anggara menunjukkan adanya penambahan sebanyak 2 tokoh. Selanjutnya, proses ekranisasi yang terdapat pada latar yaitu adanya 4 penciutan, 2 penambahan, dan 3 perubahan bervariasi. Kemudian, proses ekranisasi pada alur yaitu mengalami 47 penciutan, 45 penambahan, dan 16 perubahan bervariasi. Penciutan terjadi karena film memiliki keterbatasan dalam menyampaikan semua isi novel dan film ekranisasi lebih cenderung menampilkan bagian-bagian yang penting, yang mendukung semua unsur cerita. Penambahan juga terjadi untuk menambah daya tarik suasana film dan konsep cerita, namun penambahan itu tidak terlalu jauh hingga melupakan novelnya. Variasi perubahan juga terlihat dalam film sebagai bentuk ungkapan lain dari sang sutradara dalam menerjemahkan novelnya.Novel serta film 12 Cerita Glen Anggara ini juga telah memenuhi aspek-aspek penting dalam pemilihan bahan ajar yaitu aspek bahasa, aspek psikologi, dan aspek budaya. Dengan demikian, novel dan film 12 Cerita Glen Anggara ini sesuai untuk menjadi salah satu bahan ajar sastra di SMA.
