Abstract
ISNA FAYYADAH (2225102500), Application of Discovery Learning Methods to Improve Problem Solving Ability and Mathematical Disposition of Junior High School Students. Thesis Mathematics Education Program. Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. Attack. 2017. This research is motivated by the low ability of problems and mathematical disposition of students infected by mathematical students in SMP Negeri 2 Labuan. Therefore, applied learning with discovery learning method, because this method can improve ability. This study aims to determine the suitability of mathematical learning of students who gain learning with better learning methods than students who gain learning with cooperative. The method used in this research is quasi experimental method with cluster sampling, got one experiment class and one control class. The instrument used is the ability test. Mathematical students. The results of the research and the descriptive and inferential statistical tests provide conclusions and timeliness and the students' ability level of the experimental class is better than the control class.

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan disposisi matematis siswa terutama berkaitan dengan masalah matematis siswa pada SMP Negeri 2 Labuan. Oleh karena itu, diterapkanlah pembelajaran dengan metode discovery learning, karena metode ini dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan disposisi matematis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah pencapaian akhir dan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan disposisi matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan metode discovery learning lebih baik dari pada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan kooperatif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan cluster sampling, didapat satu kelas eksperimen dan satu kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa dan instrumen non tes berupa skala disposisi matematis siswa. Hasil penelitian dan uji statistik deskriptif serta inferensial memberikan kesimpulan bahwa pencapaian akhir dan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan disposisi matematis siswa kelas eksperimen lebih baik dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol. | |||||||||
