Abstract
This research explores the meaning of masculinity among K-Pop boyband fans, particularly in the context of the "Boy With Luv" Music Video by BTS, through the reception analysis of INAKAF Banten community members. With the increasing global popularity of K-Pop, especially BTS as one of the most influential boybands in the world, attention to how their representation of masculinity in their works influences the identity and perspectives of fans becomes increasingly important. This study employs a qualitative approach with a focus on reception analysis, allowing researchers to understand how the messages conveyed by BTS in "Boy With Luv" are received, understood, and debated by INAKAF Banten community members. Through in-depth interviews and content analysis, this research reveals various views and interpretations of masculinity that emerge in the context of K-Pop. The results of the study indicate that INAKAF Banten community members have a complex understanding of masculinity in the context of K-Pop boybands, where they blend traditional elements with more inclusive and progressive reinterpretations. Despite variations in individual interpretations, themes such as emotional expression, cooperation, and respect for differences play a significant role in the construction of masculinity they receive from BTS. This research not only provides deeper insights into how K-Pop fans interpret masculinity in the context of popular culture but also highlights the importance of inclusive and diverse representations in the global entertainment industry. The implications of this study are relevant not only to gender studies and popular culture but also to practitioners in the entertainment industry who seek to better understand the relationship between artists and fans in shaping social identities.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini mengkaji pemaknaan maskulinitas di kalangan penggemar K-pop di Banten, dengan fokus pada komunitas INAKAF Banten dalam konteks video musik "Boy With Luv" oleh BTS. Dalam budaya populer, K-pop sering kali menawarkan representasi maskulinitas yang berbeda dari norma maskulinitas tradisional, dengan penekanan pada ekspresi emosional, estetika visual, dan performa artistik. Studi ini menggunakan metode wawancara semi terstruktur dan dokumentasi untuk mengeksplorasi persepsi dan interpretasi anggota komunitas INAKAF Banten terhadap maskulinitas yang diperlihatkan oleh BTS dalam video musik tersebut. Penelitian ini berlandaskan pada teori resepsi Stuart Hall, yang menekankan pentingnya pemahaman tentang bagaimana khalayak aktif memaknai dan menafsirkan media dalam posisi dominan, negosiasi, dan oposisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemaknaan penonton terhadap maskulinitas yang ditampilkan dalam video musik "Boy With Luv" dibagi menjadi tiga dimensi, deskripsi gerak tubuh, deskripsi makeup, dan deskripsi fashion dalam MV. Sehingga dengan hasil penelitian tersebut, didapat posisi penonton pada enam informan dan didapatkan Kesimpulan bahwa K-pop, melalui pengaruh BTS mampu menawarkan bentuk-bentuk baru pemaknaan maskulinitas yang lebih inklusif dan dinamis bagi penggemar muda di Banten. Temuan ini penting untuk memahami bagaimana dinamika budaya populer dapat mempengaruhi persepsi dan ekspresi identitas gender di era globalisasi. | |||||||||
