Abstract
Background: Asthma must receive special attention because it can reduce productivity and burden the economy. Public knowledge about asthma must be increased, so that the community helps to minimize the factors that trigger asthma for sufferers. Data obtained from the Serang City Health Center in 2022, there were 67 cases of asthma consisting of 29 men and 38 women, while in 2023 there were 91 cases of asthma consisting of 55 men and 36 women. Objective: This study aims to provide an overview of the theory and application of knowledge deficit family nursing care for asthma sufferers with educational actions to prevent the emergence of asthma through leaflet media in the Serang City Community Health Center area. Method: The research method used key qualitative research with a research design, namely a case study using a nursing care approach which includes assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation and evaluation. The subjects of this research were two families of asthma patients who experienced knowledge deficit problems in the Serang City Community Health Center area. Research Results: The application of health education given once during four consecutive visit days resulted in increased client knowledge. Conclusion: The results of this research show that leaflet education can increase knowledge and overcome the problem of knowledge deficit.

| Additional Information: | Latar Belakang: Penyakit asma harus mendapatkan perhatian khusus karena dapat menurunkan produktivitas dan beban ekonomi. Pengetahuan masyarakat tentang penyakit asma harus ditingkatkan, sehingga masyarakat ikut membantu untuk meminimalisasi faktor pencetus asma bagi penderitanya. Data yang diperoleh dari Puskesmas Serang Kota tahun 2022, terdapat 67 kasus asma yang terdiri dari 29 laki-laki dan 38 perempuan sedangkan pada tahun 2023 terdapat 91 kasus asma yang terdiri dari 55 laki-laki dan 36 perempuan. Tujuan: penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran teori dan aplikasi mengenai asuhan keperawatan keluarga defisit Pengetahuan pada penderita asma dengan tindakan edukasi pencegahan munculnya asma melalui media leaflet di wilayah Puskesmas Serang Kota. Metode: Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan desain penelitian yaitu studi kasus melalui pendekatan asuhan keperawatan yang meliputi pengkajian, diagnosa, intervensi, implementasi dan evaluasi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah dua keluarga pasien asma yang mengalami masalah defisit pengetahuan di wilayah Puskesmas Serang Kota. Hasil Penelitian: Penerapan edukasi kesehatan yang diberikan sebanyak satu kali selama empat hari kunjungan berturut-turut didapatkan hasil meningkatnya pengetahuan klien. Kesimpulan: Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa edukasi leaflet dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan mengatasi masalah defisit pengetahuan. | |||||||||
