Abstract

4C skills are skills that students must have in the challenges of 21st century education, namely how to prepare students to face the real world and global challenges. 4C skills can be trained using learning models and learning approaches that involve students in solving a problem, for example with problem based learning (PBL) learning models and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) learning approaches. This research aims to determine the process of implementing the PBL learning model with a STEM approach in improving students' 4C skills in atomic structure material. This research used a pre-experiment one group pretest-posttest design. The research sample used consisted of 35 class X-1 students at SMAN 1 Curugbitung using a purposive sampling technique. The instruments used as measuring tools in this research include Teaching Modules, LKPD, student 4C skills observation sheets, and test questions. The research data was analyzed descriptively statistically using N-Gain and inferential analysis such as validity, reliability, normality and paired sample t-test tests with the help of SPSS 26. The research results showed that there were differences in the form of increased learning outcomes and increased 4C skills for class X-1 students. at SMAN 1 Curugbitung on Atomic Structure material. This is proven by the hypothesis test results obtained, namely 0.000 so the result value is <0.05 and is supported by the N-Gain result of 0,42 which is in the medium criteria and student observation data which increased at meeting 2 for critical thinking, collaboration, communication, creativity was respectively 80%, 78%, 79%, 78% to 82%, 85%, 83%, 83% at meeting 3, and student responses were in the good category with a percentage of 77.3%.

Additional Information: Keterampilan 4C adalah keterampilan yang harus dimiliki peserta didik pada tantangan pendidikan abad 21 ini, yaitu bagaimana menyiapkan peserta didik menghadapi dunia nyata dan tantangan global. Keterampilan 4C dapat dilatih menggunakan model pembelajaran dan pendekatan pembelajaran yang melibatkan siswa untuk memecahkan suatu masalah, contohnya dengan model pembelajaran problem based learning (PBL) dan pendekatan pembelajaran STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses penerapan model pembelajaran PBL dengan pendekatan STEM dalam meningkatkan keterampilan 4C siswa pada materi struktur atom. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pre-experiment one grup pretest-posttest. Sampel penelitian yang digunakan terdiri atas 35 peserta didik kelas X-1 di SMAN 1 Curugbitung dengan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan sebagai alat ukur pada penelitian ini meliputi Modul Ajar, LKPD, lembar observasi keterampilan 4C siswa, dan soal tes. Data penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif statistik menggunakan N-Gain dan analisis inferensial seperti uji validitas, reliabilitas, normalitas, dan paired sample t-test dengan bantuan SPSS 26. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan berupa peningkatan hasil belajar dan peningkatan keterampilan 4C siswa kelas X-1 di SMAN 1 Curugbitung pada materi Struktur Atom. Hal ini dibuktikan pada hasil uji hipotesis yang didapatkan, yaitu sebesar 0,000 sehingga nilai hasil < 0,05 serta didukung dari hasil N-Gain sebesar 0,42 yang berada pada kriteria sedang dan data hasil observasi siswa yang meningkat pada pertemuan 2 untuk keterampilan critical thinking, collaboration, communication, creativity secara berturut-turut sebesar 80%, 78%, 79%, 78% menjadi 82%, 85%, 83%, 83% pada pertemuan 3, serta respon siswa berada pada kategori baik dengan persentase sebesar 77,3%.
