Abstract
Crisis is a condition or event beyond expectation that can pose a threat to stakeholders and can have serious implications for the organization by generating negative impacts. The crisis that occurred at PT PLN Indonesia Power UBP Suralaya occurred due to the issue of air pollution in the Jakarta area and alleged that one of the contributing factors was from the power generation sector in Banten, namely the Suralaya Steam Power Plant (PLTU Suralaya) as one of its targets. Every institution or organization has undoubtedly experienced a crisis. This study aims to determine the approach to crisis phases and crisis response strategies implemented by the company. The researcher used a qualitative approach with a descriptive nature. In-depth interviews were conducted with 5 key informants and 1 supporting informant. The Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT) theory was used, considering the phases and crisis response strategies offered in this theory. The research results describe the Pre-Crisis phase, where PT PLN Indonesia Power UPB Suralaya became aware of the issue and immediately coordinated with the headquarters, the company's operations continued, the company had a good public image, and internal meetings were held. During the Crisis Event, the company held a Press Conference to disseminate information using social media, conducted media visits, and deactivated units. And in the Post-Crisis phase, the company conducted evaluations, maintained relationships with stakeholders, and monitored operations. Then the crisis response strategies implemented by the company were Deny Strategy and Bolstering Strategy.

Additional Information: | Krisis merupakan suatu kondisi atau kejadian diluar dugaan yang dapat memberikan ancaman kepada Stakeholder dan dapat berdampak serius terhadap organisasi dengan memberikan dampak negatif. Krisis yang terjadi kepada PT PLN Indonesia Power UBP Suralaya ini terjadi akibat adanya isu polusi udara yang terjadi di daerah Jakarta dan menuding bahwa salah satu faktor penyebabnya yaitu dari sektor pembangkit listrik di daerah Banten, yang tak lain PLTU Suralaya menjadi salah satu sasarannya. Setiap instansi maupun organisasi pasti pernah mengalami sebuah krisis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pendekatan fase krisis dan strategi respon krisis yang dilakukan perusahaan. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan sifat deskriptif. Indepth Interview digunakan dalam melakukan wawancara dengan 5 informan utama dan 1 informan pendukung. Menggunakan teori Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT) dengan memperhatikan fase dan strategi respon krisis yang ditawarkan dalam teori ini. Hasil penelitian menggambarkan pada fase Pre Crisis, ketika PT PLN Indonesia Power UPB Suralaya menyadari adanya isu langsung berkoordinasi dengan pusat, Operasional perusahaan tetap berjalan, perusahaan telah memiliki citra yang baik di masyarakat dan perusahaan mengadakan rapat internal. Crisis Event, perusahaan mengadakan Press Conference, untuk menyebarkan informasi menggunakan media sosial, mengadakan kunjungan media dan menonaktifkan unit. Dan pada fase Post Crisis, Perusahaan melakukan evaluasi, membina hubungan dengan stakeholder, dan memonitoring operasional. Kemudian strategi respon krisis yang dilakukan perusahaan yaitu Deny Strategi dan Bolstering Strategy. | |||||||||
