Abstract
Gout is closely related to impaired purine metabolism which triggers an increase in blood uric acid levels if the value is more than 7.5 mg/dL. The prevalence of gouty arthritis in the world reaches 34.2%. Controlling uric acid levels can be controlled with a low purine diet which can help in non-pharmacological treatment. This study aims to obtain an overview of family nursing care for gout sufferers with low purine diit education measures in the Serang City Health Center area. The research method was used a descriptive method in the form of a case study through a nursing approach which includes assessment, nursing diagnosis, nursing planning or intervention, nursing implementation and nursing evaluation. The results showed that there was an increase in knowledge in client 1 and client 2 characterized by client 1 being able to answer 10 out of 10 questions on the last day, while client 2 was characterized by being able to answer 9 out of 10 questions. Providing low-purine diets education to gouty arthritis clients with knowledge deficit problems is proven to get the results of both clients there is an increase in knowledge related to low-purine diets.
