Abstract
The focus of this research is directed to the social conflict contained in the novel Amba by Laksmi Pamuntjak through the approach of sociology of literature. Based on the research focus, the authors formulate the following research questions: (1) how the description of social conflict in novel Amba by Laksmi Pamuntjak? (2) what is the implication of result of analysis of social conflict in Amba novel to learning Indonesian class XII SMA. The method used in this research is analytical descriptive method to solve problems and describe social conflict contained in novel Amba by Laksmi Pamuntjak. While the research techniques that the author uses is the library techniques, techniques refer and note techniques. The source of this research data is novel Amba by Laksmi Pamuntjak published by Gramedia Pustaka Utama in 2013 third printing. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded: (1) Novel Amba by Laksmi Pamuntjak was found 15 data included in social conflict category, 10 data including political conflict, and 3 data including religious conflict; And (2) The result of social conflict analysis in novel Amba by Laksmi Pamuntjak has implication to the study of literature in class XII SMA that is understanding the structure and rules of Amba novel text either through oral and written and interpret the meaning of Amba novel text both orally and in writing.

| Additional Information: | Fokus penelitian ini diarahkan pada konflik sosial yang terdapat dalam novel Amba karya Laksmi Pamuntjak melalui pendekatan sosiologi sastra. Berdasarkan fokus penelitian tersebut, penulis merumuskan pertanyaan penelitian sebagai berikut: (1) bagaimana deskripsi konflik sosial dalam novel Amba karya Laksmi Pamuntjak? (2) bagaimana implikasi hasil analisis konflik sosial dalam novel Amba terhadap pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia kelas XII SMA. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif analitik untuk memecahkan permasalahan dan mendeskripsikan konflik sosial yang terdapat dalam novel Amba karya Laksmi Pamuntjak. Sedangkan teknik penelitian yang penulis gunakan adalah teknik pustaka, teknik simak dan teknik catat. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah novel Amba karya Laksmi Pamuntjak yang ditebitkan oleh Gramedia Pustaka Utama tahun 2013 cetakan ketiga. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan: (1) Novel Amba karya Laksmi Pamuntjak ternyata ditemukan sebanyak 15 data yang termasuk dalam kategori konflik sosial, 10 data termasuk konflik politik, dan 3 data termasuk konflik agama; dan (2) Hasil analisis konflik sosial dalam novel Amba karya Laksmi Pamuntjak memiliki implikasi terhadap pembelajaran sastra di kelas XII SMA yakni memahami struktur dan kaidah teks novel Amba baik melalui lisan maupun tulisan serta menginterpretasikan makna teks novel Amba baik secara lisan maupun tulisan. | |||||||||
