Abstract

This study aims to assess the diversity of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (CMA) in plants of the Zingiberaceae family at Mount Tukung Gede and as a recommendation for Biology learning resources in the form of digital magazines on the concept of Fungi. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi form a symbiotic mutualism with plants that can improve soil quality and transport of nutrients and water. This research was conducted from July 2022 to February 2023. Sampling of plant roots and soil using the exploration method at three different stations based on the environmental vegetation. Plant roots were stained and soil was isolated using the wet filter technique. The results of observations were identified, calculated the percentage of root colonization, spore density, and diversity index. The results showed eight genera of CMA spores were identified, namely Glomus, Acaulospora, Gigaspora, Septoglomus, Scutellospora, Racocetra, Rhizophagus, and Sclerocystis. Root staining results showed variations in CMA infection in the form of arbuscular structures, hyphae, and vesicles. The highest percentage of CMA colonies in Zingiber officinale (88%) and the lowest in Zingiber zerumbet (56%). The highest spore density value in Zingiber officinale was 254 spores/100g soil and the lowest in Etlingera solaris was 172 spores/100g soil. The CMA spore diversity index at each station showed a low category with a value of station I = 0.78, station II = 0.95, and station III = 0.84.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji keanekaragaman cendawan mikoriza arbuskula (CMA) pada tumbuhan Famili Zingiberaceae di Gunung Tukung Gede dan sebagai rekomendasi sumber belajar Biologi berupa majalah digital pada konsep Fungi. Cendawan mikoriza arbuskula membentuk simbiosis mutualisme dengan tumbuhan yang dapat meningkatkan kualitas tanah dan transportasi unsur hara dan air. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli 2022 hingga Februari 2023. Pengambilan sampel akar tumbuhan dan tanah menggunakan metode eksplorasi pada tiga stasiun berbeda berdasarkan vegetasi lingkungannya. Akar tumbuhan dilakukan tahapan pewarnaan akar dan tanah diisolasi dengan menggunakan teknik tuang saring basah. Hasil pengamatan diidentifikasi, dihitung persentase kolonisasi akar, kepadatan spora maupun indeks kenakeragaman. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan delapan genus spora CMA yang terindentifikasi yaitu Glomus, Acaulospora, Gigaspora, Septoglomus, Scutellospora, Racocetra, Rhizophagus, dan Sclerocystis. Hasil pewarnaan akar menunjukkan adanya variasi infeksi CMA berupa struktur arbuskula, hifa dan vesikel. Persentase koloni CMA tertinggi pada Zingiber officinale (88%) dan terendah pada Zingiber zerumbet (56%). Nilai kepadatan spora tertinggi pada Zingiber officinale sebanyak 254 spora/100g tanah dan terendah pada Etlingera solaris sebanyak 172 spora/100g tanah. Indeks keanekaragaman spora CMA pada setiap stasiun menunjukkan kategori rendah dengan nilai stasiun I= 0,78, stasiun II=0,95 dan stasiun III=0,84.
