Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on education worldwide. Schools were closed to reduce the spread of the virus, and learning shifted to online platforms. This has presented various challenges for students, including in understanding mathematical concepts. A strong understanding of mathematical concepts is crucial for building students' foundation for more complex mathematical topics in the future. Therefore, research is needed to analyze the post-COVID-19 pandemic students' mathematical conceptual understanding. This study employs a qualitative descriptive research design. The research sample consists of 28 students from the 11th grade, Science Program 3, at MAN 2 Kota Cilegon. The research instruments used were tests and interviews. The mathematical conceptual understanding ability of the students from MAN 2 Kota Cilegon, post-COVID-19 pandemic, falls under the moderate category. Factors influencing students' mathematical conceptual understanding post-COVID-19 pandemic include learning motivation, parental support, and the level of information technology skills. This research can serve as a reference for teachers and policymakers in the field of education to enhance students' mathematical conceptual understanding post-COVID-19 pandemic.

Additional Information: Pandemi COVID-19 telah membawa dampak yang signifikan pada pendidikan di seluruh dunia. Sekolah-sekolah ditutup untuk mengurangi penyebaran virus, dan pembelajaran dilakukan secara daring. Hal ini menimbulkan berbagai tantangan bagi siswa, termasuk dalam memahami konsep matematis. Pemahaman konsep matematis yang baik sangat penting untuk membangun landasan pemahaman siswa terhadap topik matematika yang lebih kompleks di masa depan. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan penelitian untuk menganalisis kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pasca pandemi COVID-19. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif kualitatif. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 28 siswa kelas 11 IPA 3di MAN 2 Kota Cilegon. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes dan wawancara.Kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa MAN 2 Kota Cilegon pasca pandemi COVID-19 termasuk kategori sedang. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pasca pandemi COVID-19 antara lain motivasi belajar, dukungan orang tua, dan tingkat keterampilan teknologi informasi. Penelitian ini dapat menjadi acuan bagi guru dan pengambil kebijakan di bidang pendidikan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pasca pandemi COVID-19.
