Abstract

This study is motivated by the lack of media use in learning mathematics at Dharma Bhakti Junior High School which has an impact on student learning motivation. On that basis, researchers developed android-based learning media assisted by Smart Apps Creator to increase students' motivation to learn mathematics. Smart Apps Creator is a desktop application for Android or iOS application creators that can integrate various multimedia without having to master programming languages. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model which consists of five stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and, Evaluation. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII.A Dharma Bhakti Junior High School as many as 31 students. The instruments used in this research are non-test instruments, including feasibility questionnaire, practicality questionnaire, and learning motivation questionnaire. The results showed that the learning media tested feasible based on the results of the material expert assessment of 75% with valid criteria, the assessment by media experts of 73.81% with valid criteria, and the assessment by education experts of 98.08% with very valid criteria. Then the learning media tested very practical based on the results of the teacher assessment of 100% with very practical criteria and the assessment by student experts of 84.38% with very practical criteria. Furthermore, learning media is considered effective enough to increasing students’ mathemathics learning motivation. This is based on an increase in student learning motivation with medium criteria based on the results of N-Gain testing which obtained a value of 0.602 with the effectiveness category being quite effective. Based on this, the learning media developed meets the criteria of feasible very practical, and effective enough to increase students' motivation to learn mathematics.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh minimnya penggunaan media pada pembelajaran matematika di SMP Dharma Bhakti yang berdampak pada motivasi belajar siswa. Atas dasar itulah peneliti mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis android berbantuan Smart Apps Creator guna meningkatkan motivasi belajar matematika siswa. Smart Apps Creator adalah aplikasi dekstop pembuat aplikasi android ataupun iOS yang dapat mengintegrasikan berbagai multimedia tanpa harus menguasai bahasa pemrograman. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari lima tahapan yaitu Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan, Evaluation. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII.A SMP Dharma Bhakti sebanyak 31 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah instrumen non-tes, diantaranya yaitu angket kelayakan, angket kepraktisan, dan angket motivasi belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran teruji layak yang didasari oleh hasil penilaian ahli materi sebesar 75% dengan kriteria layak, penilaian oleh ahli media sebesar 73,81% dengan kriteria layak, dan penilaian oleh ahli pendidikan sebesar 98,08% dengan kriteria sangat layak. Kemudian media pembelajaran teruji sangat praktis yang didasari oleh hasil penilaian guru sebesar 100% dengan kriteria sangat praktis dan penilaian oleh ahli siswa sebesar 84,38% dengan kriteria sangat praktis. Selanjutnya, media pembelajaran dinilai cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar matematika siswa. Hal ini didasari oleh adanya peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa dengan kriteria sedang berdasarkan hasil pengujian N-Gain yang memperoleh nilai 0,602 dengan kategori efektivitas cukup efektif. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria layak, sangat praktis, dan cukup efektif untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar matematika siswa.
