Abstract

The Banten earthquake (January 23, 2018) with a magnitude 6.1 (SR) at point of epicenter 7.23 LS-105.9 BT, resulted in 11 people injured and 2,760 houses being damaged. Other damage included 7 worship facilities, 2 health facilities, 17 educational facilities, 6 offices, and 63 public facilities. (BNPB, 2018) In order to anticipate similar disasters, efforts are needed to improve the quality of home construction. This research was conducted to design earthquake resistant house and determine the behavior of the structure in the form of deviations in the model of single and couple house on type 45 m2. The calculation refers to Peraturan Ketahanan Gempa SNI 1726: 2012 using ETABS v.9.6 program analysis. The results showed that the deviations for the single house in the X direction was 58,51 mm and the Y direction was 53,87 mm, the couple house in the X direction was 41,98 mm and Y direction was 60,94 mm. These deviations meet the permit deviation limit of 62 mm. The percentage of reinforcements of beam, square column, and flat column respectively were 2,11%, 1,86%, and 1,81% of the gross area of beams and columns. This design based on an adequate load-bearing construction system, including foundations, sloofs, columns, beams and roof truss. Anchor is needed to tie beam with truss, column and wall, and sloof with foundation. The RAB cost for a single house is Rp124,841,000 (One hundred twenty four million eight hundred forty one thousand rupiahs) and for the couple house is Rp245,476,000 (Two hundred forty five million four hundred seventy six thousand rupiahs).
