Abstract
This research focuses on the use of independent curriculum teaching materials which are based on daily life situations, with consideration of social problems affecting society, including the impact of air pollution from burning coal in Steam Power Plants (PLTU). Therefore, the teaching materials used are prepared based on Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI). The SSI approach is adopted to strengthen critical thinking skills. The aim of this research is to identify the feasibility of SSI-based teaching materials on the theme of air pollution related to the concept of steam power plants (PLTU) to facilitate students' critical thinking. The ADDIE model is used in this R&D research, which focuses on the Analysis, Design and Development (ADD) stage. This research uses expert validation instruments (media and materials), as well as student responses via questionnaires. The results of material validation by experts reached 90%, categorized as very feasible, while media validation reached 91%, also categorized as very feasible. Student responses from 26 participants showed a success rate of 89%, categorized as very interesting.

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini berfokus pada pemanfaatan bahan ajar kurikulum merdeka yang bertumpu pada situasi kehidupan sehari-hari, dengan pertimbangan atas masalah sosial yang melanda masyarakat, termasuk dampak polusi udara dari pembakaran batu bara di Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Uap (PLTU). Oleh karena itu, bahan ajar yang digunakan disusun berdasarkan Socio-Scientific Issue (SSI). Pendekatan SSI diadopsi untuk memperkuat kemampuan berpikir kritis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi kelayakan bahan ajar berbasis SSI pada tema polusi udara terkait konsep pembangkit listrik tenaga uap (PLTU) untuk memfasilitasi berpikir kritis peserta didik. Model ADDIE digunakan dalam penelitian R&D ini, yang terfokus pada tahap Analsis, Design, dan Development (ADD) Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen validasi ahli (media dan materi), serta respon peserta didik melalui angket. Hasil validasi materi oleh ahli mencapai sebesar 90%, dikategorikan sebagai sangat layak, sedangkan validasi media mencapai 91%, juga dikategorikan sebagai sangat layak. Respons siswa dari 26 partisipan menunjukkan tingkat keberhasilan sebesar 89%, dikategorikan sebagai sangat menarik. | |||||||||
