Abstract

Truant behavior is a student's absence without a proper or clear reason. Truant behavior is a problem that often occurs in schools. The aim of this research was to see whether there was an effect of Assertive Training techniques in reducing truant behavior in class IX students at SMP Negeri 2 Waringinkurung. The research method used is quantitative with a pre-experimental method with a one group pretest-posttest design. Pretest results show that out of a total of 64 students who took the pretest, there were 9 students in the low category, 45 students in the medium category, 10 students in the high category. In this study, 5 high category students were used as research samples. The results of the research showed that the pretest average was 78%, while the posttest average was 62%. The research hypothesis was tested using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, there were differences in students' truancy behavior before and after treatment was carried out through group counseling with assertive training techniques. With Asymp results. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.042 is lower than 0.05, so H_a is accepted and H_0 is rejected. Therefore, the results show that group counseling using assertive training techniques can reduce truancy behavior in class IX students at SMP Negeri 2 Waringinkurung.

Additional Information: Perilaku membolos merupakan ketidak hadiran siswa tanpa alasan yang tepat atau jelas. Peilaku membolos merupakan permasalahan yang sering terjadi di sekolah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat adakah pengaruh teknik Assertive Training dalam mengurangi perilaku membolos siswa kelas IX di SMP Negeri 2 Waringinkurung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Kuantitatif dengan metode pra-eksperimen dengan one group pretest-posttest design. Hasil Pretest menunjukan dari total 64 siswa yang mengikuti pretest, terdapat 9 siswa berada pada kategori rendah, 45 siswa berada pada kategori sedang, 10 siswa berada pada kategori tinggi. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan 5 siswa berkategori tinggi sebagai sampel penelitian. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukan rata-rata pretest 78%, sedangkan rata-rata posttest 62%. Uji hipotesis penelitian menggunaka uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, terdapat perbedaan perilaku membolos siswa sebelum dan sesudah dilaksanakan treatment melalui konseling kelompok dengan teknik assertive training. Dengan hasil Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0.042 lebih rendah dari 0,05 maka H_a diterima dan H_0 ditolak. Maka dari itu, hasil menunjukan bahwa konseling kelompok dengan teknik assertive training dapat mengurangi perilaku membolos siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 2 Waringinkurung.
