Abstract

"Sekolah Janji Baik" is one of the non-profit organizations that provides free education to underprivileged communities through volunteerism. This research aims to identify the role of Janji Baik school's volunteerism as a non-formal educational institution and to build Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) pillar 4 and (2) Motivational factors for volunteers in taking part in volunteer activities at Janji Baik school. The research used a qualitative descriptive method conducted from September 2023 to February 2024. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validity was ensured through technique triangulation and source triangulation. Data analysis followed three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results indicate that Janji Baik school volunteers have roles in a) administrative tasks, handling student files until they are registered in the Education Data Registry; b) work service, preparing learning facilities and infrastructure; c) teaching, conducting both academic and non-academic teaching; d) fundraising, raising funds to support learning programs (2) The motivation of Janji Baik school volunteers is driven by internal and external factors which can be broken down into several aspects, namely values; self-development; channeling expertise; self-satisfaction; religiosity; community; social; and fear of missing out (FoMO). activities to enhance teaching and learning quality, and provides educational facilities preparing students for the future, thereby contributing to the realization of SDGs pillar 4.

Additional Information: Sekolah “Janji Baik” adalah salah satu organisasi non profit yang menyediakan pendidikan secara gratis kepada masyarakat pra sejahtera melalui pendekatan kerelawanan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeidentifikasi (1) peran kerelawanan sekolah Janji Baik sebagai lembaga pendidikan non formal serta membangun Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) pilar ke-4 dan (2) Faktor motivasi relawan dalam mengikuti kegiatan kerelawanan di sekolah Janaji Baik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dan dilaksanakan pada September 2023 hingga Februari 2024. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan meliputi observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Uji keabsahan data dilakukan melalui triangulasi teknik dan triangulasi sumber. Analisis data mengikuti tiga tahap kegiatan, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) relawan sekolah janji baik memiliki peran a) administratif, mengurus berkas siswa hingga terdaftar di Data Pokok Pendidikan; b) work service, menyiapkan sarana dan prasarana pembelajaran c) pengajar, melakukan pengajaran secara akdemis dan non-akademis; d) fund raising, menggalang dana untuk mendukung pelaksanaan program belajar. (2) Motivasi relawan sekolah Janji Baik di dorong oleh faktor internal dan eksternal yang dapat dijabarkan menjadi beberapa aspek, yaitu nilai; pengembangan diri; penyaluran keahlian; kepuasan diri; religiusitas; komunitas; sosial; dan fear of missing out (FoMO). Dengan itu, Sekolah Janji Baik dapat memberikan akses pendidikan yang memadai, mengevaluasi kegiatan belajar untuk meningkatkan kualitas pengajaran dan pembelajaran, serta menyediakan sarana pendidikan yang mempersiapkan masa depan siswa sehingga membantu realisasi pilar ke-4 dari Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
