Abstract
This research aims to determine and test the effectiveness of short film and song media on the short story writing skills of class X students at MA Negeri 1 Serang. This research uses an experimental method with a quantitative approach and a pretest and posttest research design. The sample for this research was determined by random sampling among class X students at MA Negeri 1 Serang. Data collection techniques were taken from test results by conducting pretests and posttests for experimental classes and control classes with a grid of assessment instruments, namely quality and scope of content, organization and presentation of content, style and form of language, mechanics and effective responses. The findings in this research prove that there is effectiveness of short film and song media on short story writing skills. The experimental class pretest results showed an average value of 52.78, while the control class pretest results showed an average value of 49.24. The results of the experimental class posttest using short film media showed an average value of 78.89, while the control class posttest results using song media showed an average value of 73.52. There is a difference in the average posttest score for the experimental and control classes of 5.37 points. It can be concluded that short film media is more effective in learning to write short stories. These results prove that students are more interested and motivated in learning so that their short story writing skills improve.

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menguji keefektifan media film pendek dan lagu terhadap keterampilan menulis cerita pendek siswa kelas X MA Negeri 1 Serang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif serta desain penelitian pretest dan posttest. Sampel penelitian ini ditentukan dengan random sampling pada siswa kelas X MA Negeri 1 Serang. Teknik pengumpulan data diambil dari hasil tes dengan melakukan pretest dan posttest kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dengan kisi-kisi instrumen penilaian yaitu kualitas dan ruang lingkup isi, organisasi dan penyajian isi, gaya dan bentuk bahasa, mekanik dan respon efektif. Temuan dalam penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa terdapat keefektifan media film pendek dan lagu terhadap keterampilan menulis cerita pendek. Hasil pretest kelas eksperimen menunjukkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 52,78, sedangkan hasil pretest kelas kontrol menunjukkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 49,24. Hasil posttest kelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan media film pendek menunjukkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 78,89, sedangkan hasil posttest kelas kontrol dengan menggunakan media lagu menunjukkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 73,52. Terdapat selisih nilai rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen dan kontrol sebesar 5,37 poin. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa media film pendek lebih efektif dalam pembelajaran menulis cerita pendek. Hasil tersebut membuktikan bahwa peserta didik lebih tertarik dan termotivasi dalam belajar sehingga keterampilan menulis cerita pendeknya meningkat. | |||||||||
