Abstract

Crossing the field between the highway and the railway is a must be considered in transportation because it will affect the performance of the road. Railway crossing on Jombang Raya Street is the main access road to Sudimara Station. The problems that arise at the railway crossing of this road is caused by the closure of the crossing barrier, thus giving rise to delay the vehicle line, especially in the peak hours of traffic flow. The purpose of the study is to determine the level of traffic density at the time of no train crossing (normal conditions) and conditions right after the train crossing the railway (delayed condition). As well as knowing the performance of Jombang Raya Street which intersect with train crossing of degree of saturation, magnitude of delay and line length. The analysis of this study refers to the Pedoman Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia (PKJI) 2014, while the delay and line lengths in the analysis use Shockwave methods. Based on the results of the study obtained the highest density value for the normal conditions is 42,757 skr/km, while the delayed condition is 212,757 skr/km. Average degree of saturation 1,016, the highest delay duration for 205,92 seconds with a queue length of 463 Metres. The value of saturation on the road of Jombang Raya has exceeded the provisions set by PKJI 2014, which is 0,85 so planned a one-way road system to improve the performance of the road. From the results of road performance calculations for the implementation of a one-way road system on Jombang Raya Street obtained a degree of saturation of 0,514 so that road performance problems can be addressed.
