Abstract

The growth of traffic volume in Serang Regency continues to increase rapidly due to the growth and development of the city and the rate of increase in vehicle ownership. Besides that the existence of a factory also affect the condition of road traffic aroud the intersection at rush hour. One of the impacts is the occurrence of congestion at the intersection of access to the Ciujung Toll Gate This research intersection effect of toll gate activity on intersection performance resolve the problem that occur,, especially those related to the operational condition of the intersection that can indicated by the value of capacity, degree of saturation, delay and traffic potential. This research using the primary data and secondary data. Primary data were obtained by taking traffic data and measuring geometric in this intersection. Secondary data used the data of Kabupaten Tangerang’s population obtained from Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistic in 2018. The data will calculated based on Indonesian Highway Capacity Guidance 2014. Based on the results of the study it is known that toll gate activity affects intersection performance, so that intersections experience saturation with the value of degree of saturation (DJ) of 1.08 (based on PKJI 2014 less than 0.85)which mean this intersection is overload. This intersection has a way traffic delay value is 23,85 sec/lvu. This intersection also has a traffic potential value, which is approach 59,41%-94,54% and level of service in this intersection is F. To improve the performance of this intersection it could be fix with first alternative give the road widening, second alternative give the traffic light, and it could be used both of road widening and give the traffic light in the same time. Based on improvement calculation it could used the second improvement which has a degree saturation value in A is 0,62 in B is 0,60 and in C is 0,62.
