Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the behavior and strategies of cayenne paper farmers in dealing with the risk of fluctuations in the price of cayenne pepper in Gekbrong Village. The research method used is the quantitative descriptive method. The location selection was carried out by purposive sampling with a sample of 20 cayenne pepper farmers in Gekbrong Village. To analyze the behavior of cayenne pepper farmers facing price fluctuations in Gekbrong Village using a quantitative descriptive approach with a utility functions through interviews and data analysis using the EViews application. To analyze the farmers strategy using a descriptive approach. The results showed that all cayenne pepper farmers have risk-neutral behavior with an average risk coefficient value (b_2) positive and not real at the 95% or 90% confidence level. The strategies carried out by cayenne pepper farmers in Gekbrong Village include ex ante strategies by intercropping, interactive strategies by continuing to sell cayenne pepper despite low prices, and ex-post strategies where farmers will continue to cultivate cayenne pepper farming despite crop failures in the previous season and look for causes of failure.

| Additional Information: | Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis perilaku dan strategi petani cabai dalam menghadapi risiko fluktuasi harga cabai rawit di Desa Gekbrong. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Pemilihan lokasi dilkakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling dengan sampel sebanyak 20 petani cabai rawit di Desa Gekbrong. Untuk menganalisis perilaku petani cabai menghadapi risiko fluktuasi harga di Desa Gekbrong menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan fungsi utilitas melalui wawancara dan analaisis data menggunakan aplikasi Eviews. Untuk menganalisis strategi petani cabai menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh petani cabai memiliki perilaki risk neutral dengan nilai rata-rata koefisien (b_2) positif dan tidak nhata pada Tingkat kepercayaan 90% maupun 95%. Strategi yang dilakukan oleh petani cabai rawit di Desa Gekbrong mencakup strategi ex anre dengan melakukan tumpangsari, strategi interactive dengan tetap melakukan panen cabai rawit meskipun harga rendah, dan strategi ex post dengan petani yang tetap melanjutkan usahatani cabai rawit meskipun terjadi kekagalan di musim sebelumnya. | |||||||||
