Abstract
ABSTRACT Improving Students’ Vocabulary through Mind Mapping at the Fifth Grade of SDN Tembong 1 Kota Serang (A Classroom Action Research) By Arnis Marsela 2223092590 The objectives of the research were to find out the process of teaching students vocabulary through mind mapping and to find out the result of improvement students vocabulary through mind mapping at the fifth grade of SDN Tembong 1 Kota Serang. The subject of the research was fifth grade of SDN Tembong 1 Kota Serang. The research was held on7-29 October 2013. The method of the researcher is Classroom Action Research (CAR) and qualitative research method is to find out the information about the improving students’ vocabulary through mind mapping. The instruments of the research were tests, observation, and documentation of their activities. The result of the research, showed that the score of pre test 56.25 do not achieve KKM (70) score. The score increased to 76.25 in post test 1 and 78.5 in post test 2. It can be concluded that the improvement of pre test between post test 1 was 20.00%, while from post test 1 between post test 2 was 2.25%. It showed that the effectiveness of Mind Mapping can improve students’ vocabulary mastery. The , researcher concluded that using mind mapping can improve students’ score in teaching vocabulary of SDNTembong 1 Kota serang Keyword: Classroom Action Research, Students’ vocabulary, Mind Mapping.
