Abstract

Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University is one of the Universities located in the city of Serang, along with the increase in vehicles in Untirta the growth rate of passengers carrying private vehicles is increasing by 0.5% to 1.9% each year, and more passengers are carrying vehicles privately choose to park in the parking lot provided by the campus. The study was conducted to determine the characteristics of parking on weekdays, Monday and Friday, in addition to also to determine the current parking needs and the next five years. This study uses a survey method with primary data obtained through indirect surveys, namely recording vehicles that enter and enter the parking area by looking at CCTV footage so that the vehicle can be parked, and secondary data obtained from the Untirta Campus and the Serang City Transportation Department. Data analysis in this study is based on 1998 parking facility planning and operating guidelines. The results of the study showed that the parking area in Untirta Serang had the highest parking characteristics on Monday, where the area of motorcycle parking was 1042 m2 and the car park was 1973.7 m2 with parking capacity for 695 SRP motor vehicles and 172 SRP car vehicles. The current parking needs are still sufficient, while for the next 5 years parking needs based on the existing parking characteristics for motorbikes still lack 46 SRP and for the available car parking areas are still sufficient and the parking needs for the next 5 years need 45 SRP.
