Abstract
Background: Compliance with hemodialysis patients in carrying out a low potassium diet is currently still rarely done routinely, so it has an impact on the patient's health condition. In this problem, the role of nurses is considered very important in influencing patient behavior. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between the role of nurses as educators and compliance with a low potassium diet in chronic kidney failure patients in the Dialysis Room at RSUD dr. Adjidarmo Rangkasbitung. Method: This research uses a survey method in the form of administering a questionnaire with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study amounted to 98 patients who were calculated using the Slovin formula, with a sampling technique, namely purposive sampling through special methods or considerations. Data analysis was carried out univariate and bivariate using the Chi Square test. Results: This research shows that there is a relationship between the role of nurses as educators and compliance with a low potassium diet in the Dialysis Room at RSUD dr. Adjidarmo Rangkasbitung (P-value = 0.001). Conclusion: There is a relationship between the role of nurses as educators and compliance with a low potassium diet in chronic kidney failure patients in the Dialysis Room at RSUD dr. Adjidarmo Rangkasbitung.

| Additional Information: | Latar Belakang: Kepatuhan pasien hemodialisis dalam melakukan diet rendah kalium saat ini masih tergolong jarang dilakukan secara rutin, sehingga berdampak pada kondisi kesehatan pasien. Pada permasalahan tersebut, peran perawat dinilai sangat penting dalam memengaruhi perilaku pasien. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan antara peran perawat sebagai edukator dengan kepatuhan diet rendah kalium pada pasien gagal ginjal kronis di Ruang Dialisis RSUD dr. Adjidarmo Rangkasbitung. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey berupa pemberian kuesioner dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 98 pasien yang dihitung menggunakan rumus Slovin, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu purposive sampling melalui cara atau pertimbangan yang khusus. Analisis data dilakukan secara univariat dan bivariat dengan uji Chi Square. Hasil: Penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara peran perawat sebagai edukator dengan kepatuhan diet rendah kalium di Ruang Dialisis RSUD dr. Adjidarmo Rangkasbitung (P-value = 0,001).
