Abstract

Co-curricular activities are something that is rarely heard of, even though co- curricular activities exist to support intra-curricular activities. This research aims to describe the planning of the Spelling Bee Competition co-curricular program as a support for English language learning, describe the implementation of the Spelling Bee Competition co-curricular program as a support for English language learning and explain the evaluation of the Spelling Bee Competition co-curricular program as a support for English language learning. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method approach. Conducted from mid-September to the end of October 2023 at SDIT Widya Pakar, with research subjects being the Deputy Principal, Chief Program Executive and English Teacher. Data collection was carried out using interview, observation and documentation methods. Data processing uses credibility tests, transferability tests, dependability tests and certainty tests. The results of the research show that the planning of the Spelling Bee Competition co-curricular program consists of several stages, namely, the needs analysis stage, determining the goals to be achieved, determining the policies to be pursued regarding previously determined goals, determining a program, estimating the costs required, determining work schedules and procedures. taken. The program implementation process focuses on determining the form of activities, preparing implementation steps and fulfilling the principles of organizing co- curricular activities. Evaluation of the Spelling Bee Competition co-curricular program as a support for English language learning includes results, advantages and disadvantages and follow-up activities.

Additional Information: Kegiatan kokurikuler merupakan hal yang mungkin jarang sekali didengar, padahal adanya kegiatan kokurikuler yakni untuk menunjang kegiatan intrakurikuler. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perencanaan program kokurikuler Spelling Bee Competition sebagai penunjang pembelajaran bahasa Inggris, menggambarkan pelaksanaan program kokurikuler Spelling Bee Competition sebagai penunjang pembelajaran bahasa Inggris dan menjelaskan evaluasi program kokurikuler Spelling Bee Competition sebagai penunjang pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif metode deskriptif. Dilakukan pada pertengahan September sampai dengan akhir bulan Oktober 2023 di SDIT Widya Cendekia, dengan subjek penelitian Wakil Kepala Sekolah, Ketua Pelaksana Program dan Guru Bahasa Inggris. Pengambilan data dilakukan menggunakan metode wawancara, observasi serta dokumentasi. Olah data menggunakan uji kredibilitas, uji keteralihan, uji kebergantungan dan uji kepastian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perencanaan program kokurikuler Spelling Bee Competition terdiri dari beberapa tahap yakni, tahap analisis kebutuhan, menentukan tujuan yang akan dicapai, menentukan kebijakan yang ditempuh terkait tujuan yang telah ditetapkan sebelumnya, menentukan sebuah program, memperkirakan biaya yang diperlukan, menentukan jadwal dan prosedur kerja yang ditempuh. Untuk proses pelaksanaan program berfokus pada penentuan bentuk kegiatan, penyusunan langkah-langkah pelaksanaan dan pemenuhan asas-asas penyelenggaraan kegiatan kokurikuler. Evaluasi program kokurikuler Spelling Bee Competition sebagai penunjang pembelajaran bahasa Inggris meliputi hasil, kelebihan serta kekurangan dan tindak lanjut kegiatan.
