Abstract

This study aims to reveal the errors and factors that cause students to make mistakes in terms of learning styles. The subject of this research was XII IPA 2 class of SMAN 1 Ciruas. The results of data analysis showed that visual students made reading errors, comprehension errors, and encoding errors. Auditory students made reading error, comprehension error, process skill error and encoding error. Kinesthetic students made reading error, comprehension error, transformation error, process skill error and encoding error. The factors causing visual students to make reading errors, comprehension errors because they forgot to write it down and encoding errors because they did not know the meaning of the conclusion and made mistakes at the previous stage. Meanwhile, auditory students made reading errors because they did not understand the concept of division by two, comprehension errors because they were in a hurry to do the problem, process skill errors because they forgot to write the calculation process and encoding errors because they did not know the meaning of the conclusion and were not used to writing the conclusion. Kinesthetic students made reading errors because they did not understand the third dimension material and were not used to solving open ended problems, made comprehension errors because they forgot to write it down, transformation errors because they had difficulty manipulating numbers, process skill errors because they were in a hurry and encoding errors because they did not know the meaning of conclusions and were not used to writing conclusions.

Subjek penelitian ini di kelas XII IPA 2 SMAN 1 Ciruas. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan siswa visual melakukan reading error, comprehenssion error, dan encoding error. Siswa auditori melakukan reading error, comprehenssion error, process skill error dan encoding error. Siswa kinestetik melakukan reading error, comprehenssion error, transformation error, process skill error dan encoding error. Faktor penyebab siswa visual melakukan reading error, comprehenssion error karena lupa menuliskannya dan encoding error karena tidak tahu arti kesimpulan dan melakukan kesalahan pada tahap sebelumnya. Sementara siswa auditori melakukan reading error karena tidak memahami konsep perpangkatan dua, comprehenssion error karena terburu-buru mengerjakan soal, process skill error karena lupa menulis proses perhitungan dan encoding error karena tidak tahu arti kesimpulan dan tidak terbiasa menuliskan kesimpulan. Siswa kinestetik melakukan reading error karena belum memahami materi dimensi tiga dan belum terbiasa menyelesaikan soal open ended, melakukan comprehenssion error karena lupa menuliskannya, transformation error karena kesulitan memanipulasi angka, process skill error karena terburu-buru dan encoding error karena tidak tahu arti kesimpulan dan tidak terbiasa menuliskan kesimpulan
