Abstract
Revitalization, also known as the revamping of Pasar Sentiong, focuses on the arrangement of the area around the market. The interests of various parties, such as: the local government of Tangerang Regency, the development team, the traders at Pasar Sentiong, and the residents of Tobat Village who claim to be landowners, which in this paper refers to the resistance carried out by Pasar Sentiong traders related to the construction of Balaraja City Square, Tobat Village residents are in conflict with other parties, making the Balaraja City Square development project must be stopped until an undetermined time. The concept of closed resistance and open resistance uses James Scott's theory. It was found that there are two forms of resistance that occur in the Pasar Sentiong area due to market revitalization: (1) Open resistance; a. Resistance in the form of installation of signs rejecting development; b. Massive acts of littering; c. Illegal opening of trade stalls outside the market environment and (2) Closed resistance; a. Implied symbols of traders' resistance in the form of prayers that are prayed so that development does not continue; b. Late payment of dues by sentiong market traders as a form of closed resistance.; c. Symbolic resistance carried out by two traders by talking quietly (swearing) about the relocation of Pasar Sentiong to Balaraja City Square. until 2023 since the conduct of this research there has been no further development at the Balaraja City Square location and also resistance isstill carried out by Pasar Sentiong traders.

| Additional Information: | Revitalisasi atau yang dikenal dengan pembenahan Pasar Sentiong ini, dengan berfokus pada penataan kawasan sekitar pasar. Kepentingan berbagai pihak, seperti: pemerintah daerah Kabupaten Tangerang, tim pengembang, para pedagang di Pasar Sentiong, dan warga Desa Tobat yang mengklaim sebagai pemilik lahan di mana pada tulisan ini merujuk pada resistensi yang dilakukan pedagang Pasar Sentiong terkait pembangunan Balaraja City Square, warga Desa Tobat saling berlawanan dengan pihak lainnya membuat proyek pembangunan Balaraja City Square harus terhenti hingga waktu yang belum ditentukan. Konsep resistensi tertutup dan resistensi terbuka menggunakan teori milik James Scott. Ditemukan bahwa bentuk resistensi yang terjadi di wilayah Pasar Sentiong akibat revitalisasi pasar terdapat dua bentuk: (1) Resistensi terbuka; a. Perlawanan dengan bentuk pemasangan plang penolakan pembangunan; b. Tindakan pembuangan sampah sisa dagang sembarangan secara massif; c. Pembukaan kios dagang diluar lingkungan pasar secara ilegal dan (2) Resistensi tertutup; a. Keterlambatan pembayaran iuran yang dilakukan oleh pedagang pasar sentiong sebagai bentuk perlawanan tertutup.; b. Perlawanan simbolik yang dilakukan oleh dua pedagang dengan membicarakan secara pelan (umpatan) mengenai relokasi Pasar Sentiong menuju Balaraja City Squar, hingga tahun 2023 sejak dilakukannya penelitian ini belum ada pembangunan lanjutan pada lokasi Balaraja City Square dan juga resistensi masih dilakukan oleh pedagang Pasar Sentiong. | ||||||
