Abstract
This research aims to find out how "Among Us" can influence the player's interpersonal communication process, starting from the way of communicating to the perception obtained by the player. The background of this research refers to the increasingly rapid development of technology in various aspects of life. Especially with technological developments in the world of entertainment, nowadays it’s really easy for us to access entertainment anywhere, anytime and with anyone. This also attracted my attention to see how the communication process occurred in the online game "Among Us". Using a descriptive qualitative approach through data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews with main and supporting informants, observation, documentation and literature study. The results of this research show that there are changes in communication behavior experienced by students at SMA Negeri 2 Serang City, some of which are in how they interact with each other and other people. Starting from the words conveyed to other people, the player's level of empathy and how to convey information and opinions effectively so that they can influence other people. At this stage, there needs to be observation and restrictions from parents and teachers to guide students so that the impact of the online game "Among Us" can be directed towards good things, namely positive communication skills.

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana game online “Among Us” dapat mempengaruhi proses komunikasi interpersonal pemainnya, mulai dari cara berkomunikasi hingga persepsi yang didapat oleh pemainnya. Latar belakang penelitian ini mengacu pada perkembangan teknologi yang semakin pesat dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan. Terutama perkembangan teknologi dalam dunia hiburan, kita semakin mudah untuk mengakses hiburan dimanapun dan kapanpun serta dengan siapapun. Hal inipun menarik perhatian peneliti untuk melihat bagaimana proses komunikasi yang terjadi dalam game online “Among Us”. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif melalui teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara mendalam terhadap informan utama dan pendukung, observasi, dokumentasi, serta studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan adanya perubahan perilaku komunikasi yang di alami oleh siswa SMA Negeri 2 Kota Serang beberapa diantaranya yaitu pada bagaimana cara mereka berinteraksi kepada sesama dan orang lain. Mulai dari tutur kata yang disampaikan kepada orang lain, tingkat empati pemain dan cara menyampaikan informasi maupun pendapat secara efektif hingga dapat berpengaruh terhadap orang lain. Dalam tahap ini perlu adanya pengamatan dan pembatasan dari orang tua dengan guru untuk membimbing siswa agar dampak game online “Among Us” dapat diarahkan kepada hal-hal baik, yaitu kemampuan komunikasi yang positif. | |||||||||
