Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of government spending on the education sector, government spending on the infrastructure sector, government spending on the health sector, and government spending on the social protection sector on economic growth in 34 provinces in Indonesia. The sample was determined based on panel data consisting of time series data for the 2016-2021 period and cross-sectional data from 34 provinces in Indonesia. The data was obtained from the Central Statistics Agency and the Ministry of Finance. This research uses a panel data analysis method with a fixed effect model (FEM) estimation model. Based on the results of the simultaneous test (F-Test), it shows that the influence of government spending in the agricultural sector, government spending in the infrastructure sector, government spending in the health sector, and government spending on social protection has on economic growth in Indonesia. Meanwhile, based on the results of the partial test (t-test), it shows that the influence of government spending in the agricultural sector and government sector infrastructure spending has a significant effect on economic growth. Meanwhile, government spending on the health sector and government spending on social protection have no effect on economic growth.
