Abstract

Recently, mental health has been in the spotlight with increasing cases of suicide and depression, especially in generation Z. A generation whose growth and development is accompanied by increasing technology so that everything can be served instantly and quickly. This phenomenon is an interesting background to this research. The aims of this research are (1) to find out how much influence parents' interpersonal communication has on children's mental health, and (2) to find out how much influence parents' interpersonal communication has on children's mental health. The theory used is the Interpersonal Communication theory according to Joseph A. Devito. This research approach is quantitative with a questionnaire method with a sample of 100 respondents. The data analysis process uses simple regression analysis. The research results show that interpersonal communication between parents has a significant effect on children's mental health by 18.8% with a moderate correlation. Interpersonal communication has an important role in mental health.

Additional Information:	Belakangan kesehatan mental tengah menjadi sorotan dengan meningkatnya kasus bunuh diri dan depresi khususnya pada generasi Z. Generasi yang tumbuh kembangnya diikuti dengan meningkatnya teknologi sehingga semua dapat disajikan dengan instan dan cepat. Fenomena ini menjadi latar belakang yang menarik dari penelitian ini. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mengetahui seberapa besar hubungan komunikasi antar pribadi orang tua terhadap kesehatan mental anak, dan (2) untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh komunikasi antar pribadi orang tua terhadap kesehatan mental anak. Teori yang digunakan yaitu teori Komunikasi Antar Pribadi menurut Joseph A. Devito. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan metode angket (questioner) dengan sampel sebanyak 100 responden. Proses analisis data menggunakan analisis regresi sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Komunikasi Antar Pribadi Orang Tua berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Kesehatan Mental Anak sebesar 18,8% dengan korelasi sedang. Komunikasi antar pribadi memiliki peranan yang cukup penting pada kesehatan mental.
