Abstract
This research aims to describe compliance with language politeness principles, violations of language politeness principles, and compliance with politeness scales that occur in buying and selling interactions at Lembang Market, Tangerang City. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data collection technique in this research uses the listening method with basic techniques in the form of proficient free-involved listening techniques and advanced techniques in the form of recording and note-taking techniques. The research results showed that 55 data were found. From these data, 23 pieces of speech containing compliance with the principles of politeness were found, including: 3 data on compliance with the tact maxim, 6 data on compliance with the generosity maxim, 2 data on compliance with the approbation maxim, 3 data on compliance with the modesty maxim, 7 data on compliance with the agreement maxim, 2 data on compliance with the sympathy maxim. There were 19 pieces of data found that contained violations of the principles of language politeness, including 5 data of violations of the tact maxim, 1 data of violations of the generosity maxim, 3 data of violations of the approbation maxim, 4 data of violations of the modesty maxim, 5 data of violations of the agreement maxim, and 1 data of violations of the sympathy maxim. Meanwhile, 13 data were found that contained speech that contained language politeness scale compliance, including 4 data on compliance with the cost benefit scale, 6 data on compliance with the optionality scale, 1 data on compliance with the indirectness scale, and 2 data on compliance with the social distance scale. However, in this research no scale of authority was found in buying and selling interactions at Lembang Market. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the level of politeness between sellers and buyers at Lembang Market is still mostly polite.

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pematuhan prinsip kesantunan berbahasa, pelanggaran prinsip kesantunan berbahasa, dan pematuhan skala kesantunan yang terjadi dalam interaksi jual beli di Pasar Lembang, Kota Tangerang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode simak dengan teknik dasar berupa teknik simak bebas libat cakap dan teknik lanjutan berupa teknik rekam dan catat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan data sebanyak 55 data. Dari data tersebut, tuturan yang mengandung pematuhan prinsip kesantunan berbahasa ditemukan sebanyak 23 data yang meliputi, 3 data pematuhan maksim kebijaksanaan, 6 data pematuhan maksim kedermawanan, 2 data pematuhan maksim pujian, 3 data pematuhan maksim kerendahan hati, 7 data pematuhan maksim kesepakatan, 2 data pematuhan maksim kesimpatian. Tuturan yang mengandung pelanggaran prinsip kesantunan berbahasa ditemukan sebanyak 19 data yang meliputi, 5 data pelanggaran maksim kebijaksanaan, 1 data pelanggaran maksim kedermawanan, 3 data pelanggaran maksim pujian, 4 data pelanggaran maksim kerendahan hati, 5 data pelanggaran maksim kesepakatan dan 1 data pelanggaran maksim kesimpatian. Sedangkan tuturan yang mengandung pematuhan skala kesantunan berbahasa ditemukan sebanyak 13 data yang meliputi, 4 data pematuhan skala kerugian dan keuntungan, 6 data pematuhan skala pilihan, 1 data pematuhan skala ketidaklangsungan, dan 2 data pematuhan skala jarak sosial. Namun, pada penelitian ini tidak ditemukan skala keotoritasan dalam interaksi jual beli di Pasar Lembang. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat kesantunan berbahasa antara penjual dengan pembeli di Pasar Lembang sebagian besar masih tergolong santun. | |||||||||
