Abstract

ABSTRACT Aldi Syahril Anwar Electrical Engineering 3332180034 POWER QUALITY IMPROVEMENT AND ANALYSIS DESIGN OF STATIC SYNCHRONOUS COMPENSATOR (STATCOM) IN PT KDL DISTRIBUTION NETWORK SYSTEM SUBSTATION KHI 20 kV PT Krakatau Daya Listrik (KDL) as a supplier of electrical energy needs for the Krakatau Industrial Area, many industrial processes use large electrical machines as non-linear loads. The quality of the power supplied by PT KDL must be maintained properly continuously to provide reliable electrical system reliability and avoid disturbances. In an effort to improve power quality and overcome electrical disturbances, a Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) can be used. The purpose of this research is to determine the power quality of voltage and total harmonic distortion (THD) before and after using STATCOM in PT KDL distribution network system substation KHI 20 kV (AK). This research was conducted by designing STATCOM and analyzing power quality improvement in PT KDL distribution network system substation KHI 20 kV (AK), using Matlab R2017b software. The designed STATCOM topology consists of a voltage source converter (VSC) component, a DC source, a filter, and a control system based on the Park transformation principle. The results of the study show that under normal conditions the system voltage is normal at a value of 1.1 pu with a THD value increasing close to 5%. Meanwhile, when a disturbance occurs, the system voltage shows a STATCOM work effect, namely improving the voltage so that it is close to 1 pu, and the THD value is lowered to close to 0%. Kualitas daya yang disuplai oleh PT KDL harus dijaga dengan baik terus menerus untuk memberikan keandalan sistem kelistrikan yang handal dan terhindar gangguan. Dalam upaya perbaikan kualitas daya dan mengatasi gangguan kelistrikan, dapat dilakukan dengan penggunaan kompensator Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kualitas daya tegangan dan total harmonic distortion (THD) sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan STATCOM pada jaringan distribusi PT KDL substation KHI 20 kV (AK). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan melakukan perancangan STATCOM dan analisis perbaikan kualitas daya pada sistem distribusi PT KDL substation KHI 20 kV (AK), dengan menggunakan software Matlab R2017b. Topologi STATCOM yang dirancang terdiri dari komponen voltage source converter (VSC), sumber DC, filter, dan sistem kendali berdasarkan prinsip transformasi Park. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketika kondisi normal tegangan sistem bernilai normal pada nilai 1,1 pu dengan nilai THD mengalami kenaikan mendekati 5%. Sedangkan saat terjadi gangguan, tegangan sistem menunjukkan adanya efek kerja STATCOM yaitu memperbaiki tegangan sehingga bernilai mendekati 1 pu, dan nilai THD diturunkan menjadi mendekati 0%.
