Abstract
One of the goals of learning history in schools is to be able to improve students' critical thinking skills, so that learning history can be considered as meaningful learning, not just memorization. However, the development of critical thinking skills in history learning in schools, specifically at SMAN 5 Serang City has not been realized, because the use of conventional learning methods and models used by teachers has not been able to develop students' critical thinking skills. The problem posing learning model is considered to be able to develop students'critical thinking skills because this model trains students to pose and solve problems.This research aims to determine the effect of using the problem positing learning model on students' critical thinking abilities in learning history specialization in class XI IPS at SMAN 5 Serang City. The research was carried out on 18 September 2023 -12 October 2023. The population in this study were all students of class XI IPS SMAN 5 Serang City and the sample in this study was class XI IPS 6 as the experimental class and class The research method used was quasi-experimental, with a sampling technique, namely non-probability sampling, each sample numbering 40 people in the experimental class and control class. The instrument used in this research was an essay with 10 questions. The results of the hypothesis test using the t test with the polled variance formula, obtained fhitung= 13.820 > ftabel = 1.991 with a = 0.05, so Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. This shows the influence of the problem pose learning model on students' critical thinking abilities in history specialization subjects.

| Additional Information: | Salah satu tujuan pembelajaran sejarah di sekolah adalah mampu meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, sehingga pembelajaran sejarah dapat dianggap sebagai pembelajaran yang bermakna bukan hanya sekedar hafalan saja. Tetapi, pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis pada pembelajaran sejarah di sekolah, tepatnya di SMAN 5 Kota Serang belum teralisasikan, dikarenakan penggunaan metode dan model pembelajaran konvensional yang digunakan oleh guru belum dapat mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Model pembelajaran problem posing dinilai dapat mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa karena model ini melatih siswa untuk mengemukakan dan memecahkan masalah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari penggunaan model pembelajaran problem posingterhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran sejarah peminatan kelas XI IPS di SMAN 5 Kota Serang. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada 18 September 2023 -12 Oktober 2023. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPS SMAN 5 Kota Serang dan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas XI IPS 6 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI IPS 5 sebagai kelas kontrol. Metode penelitian yangdigunakan adalah quasi experimen, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu nonprobability sampling, masing-masing sampel berjumlah 40 orang pada kelaseksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu esai sebanyak 10 soal dengan indikator berpikir kritis Robert Ennis. Hasil uji hipotesis mengguakan uji t dengan rumus polled varian, diperoleh fhitung = 13,820 > ftabel = 1,991 dengan a = 0,05, sehingga Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak.
