Abstract
This study mainly aims to provide describes the generic structure in descriptive text made by the seventh grade students of MTS MA Bojong. This study has two objectives, they are to analyze students’ ability in writing descriptive, and to identify students’ error in writing descriptive text based on generic structure at the seventh grade of MTS MA BojongThis study used a qualitative design to describe and analyze the data taken from 30 texts made by students. In this research, data were collected by using a test method. After getting result, the researcher concludes that students in the category generic structure analysis generally are identification, from thirty students there is only one student still not understanding about identification in the descriptive text and there is only one student still not understanding about description paragraph in the descriptive text. Students in the category generic structure of content are; there are fourteen students who got score four (46,7%), there are eleven students who got score 3 (36,7%), and five students who got score two (16,7%). a)The students’ error analysis in writing descriptive text are, the students confused to analyze identification and description, b) the students write descriptive text only to explain the information about the topic in general. The result of the data analysis of students’ ability in writing descriptive text at seventh grade of MTS MA Bojong was categorized into excellent.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini terutama bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran tentang struktur generik dalam teks deskriptif yang dibuat oleh siswa kelas VII MTS MA Bojong. Penelitian ini mempunyai dua tujuan, yaitu untuk menganalisis kemampuan siswa dalam menulis deskriptif, dan untuk mengidentifikasi kesalahan siswa dalam menulis teks deskriptif berdasarkan struktur generik pada kelas VII MTS MA BojongIni Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kualitatif untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis data yang diambil dari 30 teks yang dibuat oleh siswa. Dalam penelitian ini, data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan metode tes. Setelah mendapatkan hasil, Peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa siswa berada pada kategori analisis struktur generik secara umum dilakukan identifikasi, dari tiga puluh siswa hanya ada satu siswa yang masih belum paham tentang identifikasi dalam teks deskriptif dan hanya ada satu siswa yang masih belum pemahaman tentang paragraf deskripsi dalam teks deskriptif. Siswa dalam kategori tersebut struktur umum konten adalah; terdapat empat belas siswa yang mendapat nilai empat (46,7%), siswa yang mendapat nilai 3 berjumlah sebelas orang (36,7%), dan siswa yang mendapat nilai dua sebanyak lima orang (16,7%). a) Analisis kesalahan siswa dalam menulis teks deskriptif adalah siswa bingung untuk menganalisis identifikasi dan deskripsi, b) siswa menulis teks deskriptif hanya untuk menjelaskan informasi tentang topik secara umum. Hasil analisis data kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks deskriptif di kelas tujuh MTS MA Bojong adalah dikategorikan menjadi sangat baik. | |||||||||
