Abstract

This research aims to develop a website-based virtual laboratory application (BioLabSite) as an alternative to practical urine testing on excretory system material. The method used in this research is research and development (R&D) with a 4D research design modified to 3D. The 3D design consists of the define stage, design stage, and develop stage. This research was carried out at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University and SMA Negeri 4 Kota Serang. The validators of the BioLabSite virtual laboratory consist of material validators and media validators. The respondents in this research were biology teachers and 20 class XII science students. Aspects of the feasibility test assessment by material validators include material appropriateness, presentation appropriateness, and contextual appropriateness. Aspects of due diligence assessment by media validators include constructive, linguistic, and technical aspects. The results of the feasibility test assessment by the material validator and media validator stated that the websitebased virtual biology laboratory application (BioLabSite) was very suitable for use in learning. The test results on teacher and student responses stated that the websitebased virtual biology laboratory application (BioLabSite) was very suitable for use as an alternative to urine testing practice on excretory system material.

Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah research and development (R&D) dengan desain penelitian 4D yang dimodifikasi menjadi 3D. Desain 3D terdiri atas tahap define, tahap design, dan tahap develop. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa dan SMA Negeri 4 Kota Serang. Validator dari laboratorium virtual BioLabSite terdiri atas validator materi dan validator media. Responsden dalam penelitian ini adalah guru biologi dan 20 orang siswa kelas XII IPA. Aspek penilaian uji kelayakan oleh validator materi meliputi kelayakan materi, kelayakan penyajian, dan kelayakan kontekstual. Aspek penilaian uji kelayakan oleh validator media meliputi konstruktif dan bahasa serta teknis. Hasil penilaian uji kelayakan oleh validator materi dan validator media menyatakan bahwa aplikasi virtual laboratorium bologi berbasis website (BioLabSite) sangat layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Hasil uji terhadap respons guru dan siswa menyatakan bahwa aplikasi virtual laboratorium biologi berbasis website (BioLabSite) sangat layak digunakan sebagai alternatif praktikum uji urine pada materi sistem ekskresi.
