Abstract
This research aims to find out how to develop komaca media (reading proficient box) to train elementary school students' initial reading skills, and to find out the suitability of the media developed, to find out students' responses to komaca media. This research was conducted at SDN I Lebak Parahiang school with 17 class I students as research subjects. This type of research uses the R&D method which refers to the steps of the 4-D development model according to Thiagarajan, et al (in Trianto, 2012: 232) consisting of four development stages, namely definition, development and dissemination. The instruments that researchers use are questionnaires for product validation by a team of experts (media, language, materials) and student response questionnaire sheets. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that the komaca media (reading proficient box) for training the initial reading skills of grade I elementary school students that was developed is included in the very feasible category with a percentage of 87.89% from 2 media experts, the very feasible category with a percentage of 95.55 % from 2 language experts, and the category is very feasible with a percentage of 90% from 2 material experts. The students' response to the komaca media (reading proficient box) in the trial with 17 respondents was 91.7%, which was included in the very good category.

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui cara pengembangan media Komaca (Kotak Mahir Membaca) untuk melatih keterampilan membaca permulaan peserta didik sekolah dasar, dan untuk mengetahui kelayakan media yang dikembangkan, untuk mengetahui respons peserta didik terhadap media Komaca. Penelitian ini dilakukan di sekolah SDN I Lebak Parahiang dengan subjek penelitian peserta didik kelas I yang berjumlah 17 orang. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode R&D yang mengacu pada Langkah-langkah model pengembangan 4-D menurut Thiagarajan, dkk (dalam Trianto, 2012: 232) terdiri dari empat tahap pengembangan yaitu pendefinisian, pengembangan dan penyebaran. Instrumen yang peneliti gunakan berupa angket untuk validasi produk oleh tim ahli (media, bahasa, materi) dan lembar angket respons peserta didik. Berdasarkan analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa media Komaca (Kotak Mahir Membaca) untuk melatih keterampilan membaca permulaan peserta didik kelas I sekolah dasar yang dikembangkan termasuk dalam katagori sangat layak dengan persentase 87,89% dari 2 ahli media, katagori sangat layak dengan persentase 95,55% dari 2 ahli Bahasa, dan katagori sangat layak dengan persentase 90% dari 2 ahli materi. Respons peserta didik terhadap media Komaca (Kotak Mahir Membaca) pada uji coba dengan 17 responden sebesar 91,7% termasuk ke dalam katagori sangat baik. | |||||||||
