Abstract
IKM XYZ is one of Small and Medium Industry located in Taman Cilegon Indah area which is engaged in fashion. The problem faced is that the warehouse owned has not been able to overcome the problem of irregularity of existing product congestion, because IKM XYZ has produced many types of products and the amount of the product to exceed the capacity of the warehouse shelves, causing the product was forced to be stored outside the storage shelves that should be. Dedicated storage method is a method of product storage layout based on the number of incoming and outgoing product activities in the warehouse with the shortest distance to I / O point (throughput). The purpose of this study is to calculate the total distance of material handling in the existing condition, calculate the total distance of material handling at the proposed condition, calculate the total loss of material handling distance that occurs if the dedicated storage method is applied. Therefore, to be able to answer the purpose of the research it is necessary to apply the method of dedicated storage. With the design of the preparation of the implementation of dedicated storage is expected that the product will be stored can occupy a fixed location to facilitate the operator in the storage and retrieval of products, so that the flow of products become smooth and the use of storage area (space requirements) to be more optimal. The result obtained for the total material handling distance on the existing condition of 2639.69 m, the total distance of material handling mileage at the proposed condition of 2102.13 m, and the difference in material handling distance reduction of 537.56 m with a percentage of 20, 36%.

| Additional Information: | IKM XYZ merupakan salah satu Industri Kecil Menengah yang berada di kawasan Taman Cilegon Indah yang bergerak di bidang fashion. Permasalahan yang dihadapi adalah warehouse yang dimiliki ternyata belum mampu mengatasi masalah ketidakteraturan penumpukan produk yang ada, dikarenakan IKM XYZ memproduksi berbagai jenis produk dan jumlah produk yang banyak hingga melebihi kapasitas rakrak gudang, menyebabkan produk terpaksa disimpan diluar rak-rak penyimpanan yang seharusnya. Metode dedicated storage ini merupakan metode tata letak penyimpanan produk berdasarkan banyaknya aktivitas keluar masuk produk di gudang dengan jarak tempuh terpendek terhadap I/O point (throughput). Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu menghitung total jarak material handling pada kondisi eksisting, menghitung total jarak material handling pada kondisi usulan, menghitung penurunan total jarak material handling yang terjadi jika metode dedicated storage diterapkan. Oleh karena itu untuk dapat menjawab tujuan dari penelitian tersebut perlu dilakukan penerapan metode dedicated storage. Dengan adanya rancangan penyusunan penerapan dedicated storage ini diharapkan produk yang akan disimpan dapat menempati lokasi yang tetap untuk memudahkan operator dalam penyimpanan dan pengambilan produk, sehingga aliran produk menjadi lancar dan pemakaian area penyimpanan (space requirement) menjadi lebih optimal. Hasil tujuan yang diperoleh untuk total jarak tempuh material handling pada kondisi eksisting sebesar 2639,69 m, total jarak jarak tempuh material handling pada kondisi usulan sebesar 2102,13 m, dan selisih penurunan jarak tempuh material handling sebesar 537,56 m dengan persentase 20,36%. | |||||||||
