Abstract
This research aims to examine the role of Harian KAMI newspaper as a medium for delivering political information in 1966. Harian KAMI newspaper is a newspaper published by students in 1966, this newspaper is active in reporting on politics, social, and economics. This research is assisted by the theory of libertarian press, political communication, and social movement as an analysis knife and in line with the research objectives, the method used in this research is the historical research method which includes four steps, namely, heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The information published by KAMI Daily had the aim of supporting the actions carried out by the Indonesian Student Action Union (KAMI) in calling for TRITURA. After the events of the September 30, 1965 Movement, the public wanted Soekarno to immediately resolve the problem. The awaited settlement did not arrive and the worsening economic conditions resulted in the community taking to the streets to demand that the PKI be dissolved immediately. The demand was strengthened by the support of students who became the pioneers of the movement. To support this action, students established the Indonesian Student Action Union (KAMI) on October 25, 1965 and also published a national scale newspaper, namely, KAMI Daily. KAMI Daily itself was published on June 18, 1966 with the aim of supporting the activities carried out by KAMI and disseminating them throughout Indonesia. This newspaper quickly became very popular. Although it was only a newspaper published by students, the news released was quite interesting to read. As a medium for conveying political information in 1966, the news presented by KAMI Daily criticized the forces that supported the PKI, they also carried out an anti-Sokarno campaign by criticizing him in the news presented.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji mengenai peran surat kabar Harian KAMI sebagai media penyampaian informasi politik tahun 1966. Surat kabar Harian KAMI merupakan surat kabar yang diterbitkan oleh mahasiswa pada tahun 1966, surat kabar ini aktif dalam memberitakan mengenai politik, sosial, dan ekonomi. Dalam penelitian ini dibantu teori pers libertarian, komunikasi politik, dan juga gerakan sosial sebagai pisau analisis serta sejalan dengan tujuan penelitian, maka metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian historis yang mencakup empat langkah yaitu, heuristik, kritik sumber, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Informasi yang diterbitkan oleh Harian KAMI memiliki tujuan untuk mendukung aksi-aksi yang dilakukan oleh Kesatuan Aksi Mahasiswa Indonesia (KAMI) dalam menyerukan TRITURA. Pasca peristiwa Gerakan 30 September 1965, masyarakat menginginkan agar Soekarno segera menyelesaikan permasalahan tersebut. Penyelesaian yang ditunggu pun tak kunjung tiba ditambah kondisi ekonomi yang semakin memburuk mengakibatkan masyarakat turun ke jalan untuk menuntut agar PKI segera dibubarkan. Tuntutan itu semakin menguat dengan dukungan mahasiswa yang menjadi pelopor gerakan tersebut. Untuk mendukung aksi tersebut, mahasiswa mendirikan Kesatuan Aksi Mahasiswa Indonesia (KAMI) pada tanggal 25 Oktober 1965 dan juga menerbitkan surat kabar berskala nasional yaitu, Harian KAMI. Harian KAMI sendiri terbit pada tanggal 18 Juni 1966 dengan tujuan untuk mendukung kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh KAMI dan menyebarluaskannya ke seluruh Indonesia. Surat kabar ini dengan cepat menjadi sangat terkenal. Meskipun hanya sebatas koran yang diterbitkan oleh mahasiswa, namun berita-berita yang dikeluarkan cukup menarik perhatian untuk dibaca. Sebagai media penyampaian informasi politik pada tahun 1966, berita yang dibawakanHarian KAMI yaitu, mengkritik kekuatan-kekuatan yang mendukung PKI, mereka juga melakukan kampanye anti Soekarno dengan cara mengkritiknya dalam berita yang dibawakan. | |||||||||
