Abstract
The purpose of this research is to find out the use of Elsa Speak application in learning speaking skills at the 11th grade of social classes in SMAN 2 Kota Serang. In conducting the research, the researcher used case study qualitative research. The researcher used purposive sampling in selecting participants who had experienced using Elsa Speak. In collecting data, the researcher used observation, documentation and structured in-depth interviews that were open-ended. The interview was conducted directly at the school and the questions consisted of three important indicators namely the learning process, difficulties, and advantages of using Elsa Speak application that were open-ended and explored more deeply by the researcher. The data was analyzed using (Miles & Huberman, 2014) techniques. The result of this study is that in the learning process using Elsa Speak application, students can learn speaking skills well and are more motivated because of the ease of access and features contained in the application. The students who find it difficult is caused by external factors, one of which is the insufficient capacity of the device. While the students who find it helpful is caused by frequent use, utilization of features according to learning needs and consistency in using the application. The conclusion from this research is that, by using Elsa Speak application in learning Speaking skills, students become more interested and passionate in learning.

Additional Information: | Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penggunaan aplikasi Elsa Speak dalam pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara di kelas XI IPS di SMAN 2 Kota Serang. Dalam melakukan penelitian, peneliti menggunakan penelitian kualitatif studi kasus. Peneliti menggunakan purposive sampling dalam memilih partisipan yang telah berpengalaman menggunakan Elsa Speak. Dalam mengumpulkan data, peneliti menggunakan observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara mendalam terstruktur yang bersifat terbuka. Wawancara dilakukan secara langsung di sekolah dan pertanyaan terdiri dari tiga indikator penting yaitu proses pembelajaran, kesulitan, dan keuntungan menggunakan aplikasi Elsa Speak yang bersifat terbuka dan digali lebih dalam oleh peneliti. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik (Miles & Huberman, 2014). Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah dalam proses pembelajaran menggunakan aplikasi Elsa Speak, siswa dapat belajar keterampilan berbicara dengan baik dan lebih termotivasi karena kemudahan akses dan fitur-fitur yang terdapat di dalam aplikasi tersebut. Siswa yang merasa kesulitan disebabkan oleh faktor eksternal, salah satunya adalah kapasitas perangkat yang kurang memadai. Sedangkan siswa yang merasa terbantu disebabkan oleh seringnya penggunaan, pemanfaatan fitur sesuai dengan kebutuhan belajar dan konsistensi dalam menggunakan aplikasi. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah, dengan menggunakan aplikasi Elsa Speak dalam pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara, siswa menjadi lebih tertarik dan bersemangat dalam belajar. | |||||||||
