Abstract

The composition of vegetation types is the arrangement and number of individuals contained in a plant community. One location with the potential for high vegetation species composition is Green Open Space (GOS). GOS consists of several types, an example is the City Park found in urban areas. This research was held in March-July 2022 for data collection in 5 locations of Cilegon city parks; Cilegon City Square Park, Layak Anak Park, Simpang Park, Alhadid Park and Nurul Ikhlas Park. While August 2022 to October 2023 for thesis writing. The purpose of this research is to determine the composition of vegetation in the green open spaces of Cilegon city parks and the possibility of utilising the research data in accordance with school learning. This type of research is a type of pure science research that is implemented on biology learning. The method used is the double plot method. The results showed that (1) Number of species composition at seedling > tree > sapling > pole level (2) Vegetation composition in city parks; alhadid park as many as 17 species, simpang park as many as 24 species, nurul ikhlas park as many as 14 species, child-friendly park as many as 48 species and cilegon city square park as many as 46 species (3) The similarity index is low i.e. IS<50%, in the combination of the compared observation parks, and (4) Recommendations for research results in education in the form of modules, booklets and posters.

Additional Information: Komposisi jenis vegetasi merupakan susunan dan jumlah individu yang terdapat dalam suatu komunitas tumbuhan. Salah satu lokasi dengan potensi komposisi jenis vegetasi yang tinggi yaitu Ruang Terbuka Hijau (RTH). RTH terdiri dari beberapa jenis, contohnya adalah Taman Kota yang terdapat di wilayah perkotaan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret-Juli 2022 untuk pengambilan data di 5 lokasi taman kota Cilegon; Taman Alun-alun Kota Cilegon, Taman Layak Anak, Taman Simpang, Taman Alhadid dan Taman Nurul Ikhlas. Sedangkan Agustus 2022 sampai dengan Oktober 2023 untuk penulisan skripsi Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui komposisi vegetasi di ruang terbuka hijau taman kota Cilegon dan kemungkinanan pemanfaatan data hasil penelitian yang sesuai pembelajaran di sekolah. Jenis penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian biologi murni yang diimplementasikan pada pembelajaran biologi. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode petak ganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Jumlah komposisi jenis tingkat semai > pohon > pancang > tiang (2) Komposisi vegetasi pada taman kota; taman alhadid sebanyak 17 spesies, taman simpang sebanyak 24 spesies, taman nurul ikhlas sebanyak 14 spesies, taman layak anak sebanyak 48 spesies dan taman alun-alun sebanyak 46 spesies (3) Indeks similaritas yang tergolong rendah yaitu IS<50% pada kombinasi antar taman pengamatan yang diperbandingkan, dan (4) Rekomendasi hasil penelitian dalam pendidikan berupa modul, booklet dan poster.
