Abstract

This research aims to obtain an overview of the effectiveness of Microsoft Sway to improve the functional beginning reading skills of children with mild intellectual disability in Pandeglang Regency. This research used quantitative research method of Pre-Experimental type with One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The sampling technique in this research used probability sampling with a cluster sampling technique (area sampling), there are 2 Special Schools (SKh) in Menes District and Labuan District with a total of 4 mild intellectual disability children consisting of 3 children at SKh Mathla'ul Anwar and 1 child at SKh Alghisafa Labuan grade 7. The independent variable in this research is Microsoft Sway and the dependent variable in this research is the improvement in functional beginning reading skills, focusing on words derived from brand names of KV-KV patterned words. Data collection techniques using test method. Based on the results of this research, the use of Microsoft Sway is effective to improve the functional beginning reading skills of children use of Microsoft Sway is effectivewith mild intellectual disability in Pandeglang Regency. The children's functional beginning reading skills is increased, from only being able to spell one letter at a time to being able to read the word as a whole. The results obtained showed an increase starting from an average pretest score of 30,8 to an average posttest score of 95.8. Based on the paired sample T-test, the results show that the value of sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05 or 0.000 < 0.05, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means there is an effectiveness of Microsoft Sway to improve the functional beginning reading skills of children with mild intellectual disability in Pandeglang Regency. Furthermore, based on N-Gain analysis, Microsoft Sway has 0,9417 of effectiveness which means it has high effectiveness to improve the functional beginning reading skills of children with mild intellectual disability in Pandeglang Regency.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran mengenai bagaimana efektivitas Microsoft Sway dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca fungsional permulaan pada anak tunagrahita ringan di Kabupaten Pandeglang. Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah Microsoft Sway dan variabel terikat dalam penelitian ini adalah kemampuan membaca fungsional permulaan dengan kata-kata yang berasal dari nama-nama merk produk berpola KV-KV. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode tes. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, penggunaan Microsoft Sway efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca fungsional permulaan anak tunagrahita ringan di Kabupaten Pandeglang. Kemampuan membaca fungsional permulaan anak meningkat, dari yang awalnya hanya mampu mengeja satu per satu huruf menjadi mampu membaca kata secara keseluruhan. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan peningkatan dimulai dari rata-rata skor pretest 30,8 menjadi rata-rata skor posttest 95,8. Berdasarkan uji paired sample T-test menunjukkan hasil bahwa nilai sig. (2-tailed) < 0,05 atau 0,000 < 0,05, dapat disimpulkan bahwa H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima yaitu terdapat efektivitas penggunaan Microsoft Sway terhadap peningkatan kemampuan membaca fungsional perulaan pada anak tunagrahita ringan di Kabupaten Pandeglang. Serta, berdasarkan analisis N-Gain, Microsoft Sway memiliki efektivitas sebesar 0,9417 atau dapat dikatakan memiliki efektivitas tinggi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca fungsional permulaan anak tunagrahita ringan di Kabupaten Pandeglang.
