Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze how students' ability to understand mathematical concepts based on APOS theory on linear programming material. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 2 Cibeber class XI IPA 1. The subjects of the study were 6 students consisting of two high ability students, two medium ability students and two low ability students. This study uses a type of qualitative research. The instrument used in this study was a written test of understanding mathematical concepts which consisted of two description questions. Data analysis used in this research is data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. This study uses the APOS theory which contains a concept understanding index to analyze the level of students' mathematical concept understanding abilities. The results of this study indicate that students with the ability to understand mathematical concepts in the high category have reached the schema stage, students with the ability to understand mathematical concepts in the moderate category have reached the object stage, while students with the ability to understand mathematical concepts in the low category have only reached the action stage.

Additional Information: Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk menganalisis bagaimana kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa berdasarkan teori APOS pada materi program linear. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 2 Cibeber kelas XI IPA 1. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 6 siswa yang terdiri dari dua siswa berkemampuan tinggi, dua siswa berkemampuan sedang dan dua siswa berkemampuan rendah. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu tes tertulis pemahaman konsep matematis yang terdiri dari dua soal uraian. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori APOS yang memuat indeks pemahaman konsep untuk menganalisis tingkat kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa siswa dengan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis kategori tinggi telah mencapai tahap skema, siswa dengan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis kategori sedang sampai pada tahap objek, sedangkan siswa dengan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis kategori rendah hanya sampai tahap aksi saja.
