Abstract

This study aims to determine the character development of a fondness for reading through the School Literacy Movement (GLS) program in class IV A SDN Serang 3. This research uses descriptive and qualitative research. The subjects in this study were school principals, teachers coordinator in program GLS, teachers in class IV A, and students in class IV A at SDN Serang 3. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. Then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which consists of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. To test the validity of the data in this study, the credibility test, transferability test, dependability test and conformability test were used. The results of this study indicate that: 1) the implementation of the GLS program is based on the rules of the Republic of Indonesia Ministry of Education and Culture No. 23 of 2015. Its implementation is through the habituation stage which is applied through the habituation of reciting Al-Qur’an together in class for 15 minutes and the habit of reading time every Thursday in the field by reading books that students like. Stages of development by following up after habituating reading time, holding literacy competitions between classes and giving awards. The learning stages are implemented using the independent elementary school curriculum by bringing up literacy skills in it. The positive impact of implementing the GLS program for class IV A students was an increase in student learning outcomes and students' interest in reading, who could use their spare time to read books. 2) Supporting factors in the GLS program include involving all school members and collaborating with the education office regarding literacy infrastructure and parents of students through book donor activities, as well as providing literacy infrastructure that supports the GLS program.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pembinaan karakter gemar membaca melalui program Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) di kelas IV A SDN Serang 3. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini kepala sekolah, guru koordinator program GLS, guru kelas IV A dan siswa kelas IV A di SDN Serang 3. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yang terdiri dari reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Untuk menguji keabsahan data pada penelitian ini meliputi uji creadibility (kreadibilitas), uji transferability (keteralihan), uji dependability (ketergantungan) dan uji conformability (kepastian). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1) pelaksanaan program GLS diterapkan atas dasar aturan Kemendikbud RI nomor 23 tahun 2015. Pelaksanannya melalui tahapan pembiasaan yang diterapkan melalui kegiatan pembiasaan mengaji bersama di kelas selama 15 menit dan pembiasaan reading time setiap hari kamis di lapangan dengan membaca buku yang siswa sukai. Tahapan pengembangan dengan melakukan tindak lanjut setelah kegiatan membaca, mengadakan perlombaan literasi antar kelas dan pemberian penghargaan. Tahapan pembelajaran diterapkan menggunakan kurikulum SD merdeka dengan memunculkan kemampuan literasi didalamnya. Dampak positif penerapan program GLS bagi siswa kelas IV A, yaitu adanya peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dan minat baca siswa yang dapat memanfaatkan waktu luang dengan membaca buku. 2) Faktor pendukung dalam program GLS ini, dengan melibatkan semua warga sekolah dan menjalin kerjasama dengan dinas pendidikan terkait sarana prasarana literasi dan para orang tua siswa melalui kegiatan donor buku serta menyediakan sarana prasana literasi yang mendukung program GLS.
