Abstract

The research objective was to determine the effectiveness of mnemonic method in improving students vocabulary at the eighth grade of MTs Al-Hidayah Ciomas. The quantitative research with pre-experimental method was employed in this research, and one-group pretest-posttest design was implemented. The subject of this research was 37 students of VIII A class. The results of the analysis show that the average posttest score (87.57) is higher than the average pre-test score (51.35). and Ha is hired next. This shows that students' ability to acquire vocabulary increases with treatment. Next, the researcher calculated that the resulting t-score was <. t table (-15.191 < 2.045) and sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). It means that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. It can be concluded that the Mnemonic Method has an improvement on the students vocabulary mastery at the eighth grade of MTs Al-hidayah Ciomas.
