Abstract

This study examines reading learning issues at SDN 1 Malingping Utara, particularly concerning the reduced effectiveness during the pandemic. Factors such as insufficient letter recognition during the Golden Age, delayed understanding due to not all students attending preschool, and ineffective online learning are the primary focal points. Despite having facilities like projectors and laptops, their utilization in teaching remains suboptimal. Observations confirm that the teaching methods remain conventional and don’t fully exploit educational media. The potential solution might lie in developing learning media tailored to the students' needs. Proper integration of these media resources is anticipated to enhance the quality of education, making it more engaging, interactive, and supportive of student comprehension. The study aims to develop media, assess its suitability, and evaluate student responses. The research method employed is Research and Development (R&D) using the Four-D Models procedure involving defining, designing, developing, and disseminating with a quantitative approach. Evaluation results by two media experts scoring 87.5%, two subject matter experts at 81.6%, and two language experts at 85%, averaging at 84.7%, indicate a "highly suitable" rating. Student feedback also yields an average score of 90.2%, classified as "excellent."

Additional Information: Penelitian ini mengulas permasalahan pembelajaran membaca di SDN 1 Malingping Utara, terutama terkait kurangnya efektivitas dalam kondisi pandemi. Faktor-faktor seperti kurangnya pengenalan huruf pada usia Golden Age, keterlambatan pemahaman karena tidak semua peserta didik menempuh pendidikan di TK, dan pembelajaran daring yang kurang efektif menjadi sorotan utama. Meskipun ada fasilitas seperti proyektor dan laptop, penggunaannya dalam pembelajaran masih kurang optimal. Observasi menegaskan bahwa pembelajaran masih bersifat konvensional tanpa memanfaatkan media pembelajaran secara maksimal. Solusinya mungkin terletak pada pengembangan media pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan peserta didik. Integrasi yang tepat dari media pembelajaran diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran, membuatnya lebih menarik, interaktif, dan membantu peserta didik dalam memahami materi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media, mengukur kelayakan media, dan respons peserta didik terhadap media. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan prosedur penelitian Four-D Models yang melibatkan tahapan define, design, develop, dan disseminate dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Hasil evaluasi oleh dua ahli media dengan presentase 87,5%, dua ahli materi dengan presentase 81,6%, dan dua ahli bahasa dengan presentase 85% dengan rata-rata persentase sebesar 84,7% menunjukkan kategori penilaian "sangat layak". Hasil respons dari peserta didik juga memberikan skor rata-rata 90,2% dengan kriteria "sangat baik".
