Abstract

This research is based on the initial observation at SMKN 4 Tangerang City, after observation and interviews with teachers and students, it turns out that the main problem at this school is that students have not been able to describe events chronologically based on the order of time, place and date/year. This study aims to determine the application and effect of using picture and picture type cooperative learning model on students' chronological thinking ability in learning history in class X RPL SMKN 4 Tangerang City. This research method is a quasi-experimental research with the design of "pretest postest control group design" in which there are two groups, namely the experimental class and the control class. There are two research results, 1) In the results of the application of the use of the picture and picture type cooperative model by students and teachers, the activities ran for three meetings, with different materials at each meeting. As a result, students carry out learning activities well and actively, and can sort pictures chronologically according to the rules of the picture and picture type, the picture and picture type cooperative learning model also helps teachers in delivering material to students in an easier and more directed way. 2) Based on the results of the study, the average value of the experimental class was 63.3 and 56.2 in the control class, seen from the results of data analysis that has been carried out T-test with the results of hypothesis testing, namely obtained Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.01> 0.05, it means that the hypothesis is accepted which means that there is an effect of using the picture and picture type learning model on students' chronological thinking skills in learning history. The impact on the use of picture and picture type cooperative learning model on students' chronological thinking ability at SMKN 4 Tangerang City in learning history, 1.) Improve several aspects, namely the ability to distinguish the past, present and future. 2) Improve aspects of the ability to connect cause and effect in historical events. Students absorb learning material faster because they are shown pictures when learning history.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini didasarkan pada saat observasi awal di SMKN 4 Kota Tangerang, setelah observasi dan wawancara kepada guru dan siswa ternyata permasalahan utama pada sekolah ini peserta didik belum bisa mendeskripsikan peristiwa secara kronologis berdasarkan urutan waktu, tempat dan tanggal/tahun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan dan pengaruh dari penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe picture and picture terhadap kemampuan berpikir kronologis siswa dalam pembelajaran sejarah di kelas X RPL SMKN 4 Kota Tangerang. Metode penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu (quasi-experiment) dengan desain “pretest postest control group design” yang mana ada dua kelompok yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Terdapat dua hasil penelitian, 1). Dalam hasil penerapan penggunaan model kooperatif tipe picture and picture oleh siswa maupun guru, kegiatan berjalan selama tiga pertemuan, dengan materi yang berbeda disetiap pertemuan. Hasilnya siswa melaksanakan kegiatan pembelajaran dengan baik serta aktif, dan dapat mengurutkan gambar secara kronologis sesuai dengan kaidah dari tipe picture and picture, model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe picture and picture juga membantu guru dalam menyampaikan materi kepada siswa dengan cara yang lebih mudah dan terarah. 2). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen adalah 63,3 dan 56,2 pada kelas kontrol, terlihat dari hasil analisis data yang telah dilakukan uji – T dengan hasil uji hipotesis yaitu diperoleh Sig.(2-tailed) = 0,01 > 0,05, maka berarti hipotesis diterima yang mana terdapat pengaruh dari penggunaan model pembelajaran tipe picture and picture terhadap kemampuan berpikir kronologis siswa dalam pembelajaran sejarah. Pengaruh pada penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe picture and picture terhadap kemampuan berpikir kronologis siswa di SMKN 4 Kota Tangerang dalam pembelajaran sejarah,1). Meningkatkan beberapa aspek yaitu kemampuan membedakan masa lalu, masa kini dan masa depan. 2). Meningkatkan aspek kemampuan menghubungkan antara sebab dan akibat dalam peristiwa sejarah. Siswa jadi lebih cepat menyerap materi pembelajaran karena diperlihatkan gambar saat pembelajaran sejarah.
