Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the influence of the Project Based Learning model with a STEM approach on improving students' creative thinking abilities on thermodynamic law material, with data collection techniques through pretest, posttest and questionnaires. Purpose sampling technique, the sample consisted of 30 people who were students XI Class High School of the Assa'adah Modern Islamic Boarding School, Serang Banten. The analytical method used in this research is Quantitative Data Analysis. The results of the research show that there is an influence of the Project Based Learning model with a STEM approach on increasing students' creative thinking abilities in the law of thermodynamics. The results of the posttest analysis obtained a p-value = 0.002. This shows that the p-value (sig) <0.05, so H0 is rejected. The Project Based Learning model with a STEM approach has been proven to be able to improve students' creative thinking abilities on the law of thermodynamics. Having an average N-gain score for the experimental class (Pjbl Stem Model) is 0.6640 or 66.4%, a minimum N-gain score of 50.00% and a maximum of 94.00% is in the quite effective category. Meanwhile, the N-gain score of the control group (PBL Model) was 0.3707 or in the ineffective category of 37.1%, the N-gain score was a minimum of 11.00% and a maximum of 80.00%. Respondents' perceptions of learning using the Pjbl STEM model were in the good/satisfied category. The average calculation results to have the smallest value of 2.93, the largest value of 3.33 and the overall average value of each item obtained is a value of 3.19 in the range 3.41–4.20.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh model Project Based Learning dengan pendekatan STEM terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif santri pada materi hukum termodinamika. Hasil analisis posttest memperoleh p-value= 0,002. Hal ini menujukkan bahwa p-value (sig) < 0,05, sehingga H0 ditolak. Model Project Based Learning dengan pendekatan STEM terbukti dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif santri pada materi hukum termodinamika. Memiliki rata-rata skor N-gain kelas eksperimen (Model Pjbl Stem) adalah 0,6640 atau 66,4%, skor N gain minimal 50,00% dan maksimal 94,00% termasuk kategori sedang cukup efektif. Sedangkan N-gain score kelompok kontrol (Model PBL) sebesar 0,3707 atau kategori sedang tidak efektif sebesar 37,1%, skor N-gain minimal 11,00% dan maksimal 80,00%. Persepsi responden terhadap pembelajaran dengan model PjBL STEM kategori baik/puas. Hasil perhitungan rata-rata untuk memiliki nilai terkecil 2,93, nilai terbesar 3,33 dan nilai rata rata dari setiap item keseluruhan diperoleh nilai 3,19 berada pada rentang 3,41–4,20.
