Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of darkening duration on the growth of two banana (Musa acuminata C.) varieties in vitro. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Agriculture, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University from Mei 2023 until September 2023. Factorial Randomized Block Design was used in this research with two factors. The first factor was the variety of bananas, namely Mas Kirana and Cavendish grand naine (G9). The second factor was the darkening duration the phase were without darkening, 1, 2, and 4 Weeks of darkening. The research showed that the time of shoot emergence started at 1.83 WAP in Cavendish grand naine treatment without darkening. The type of variety treatment had a significant effect on the number of leaves at 4 WAP, with the best variety was Cavendish grand naine. The darkening duration treatment with four weeks of darkening increased shoot height significantly at 6 and 8 WAP. The interaction between the two factors had a significant effect in the number of shoots at 4, 6, and 8 WAP, the shoot height at 4 WAP, and the number of leaves at 8 WAP.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama penggelapan terhadap pertumbuhan dua varietas pisang (Musa acuminata C.) secara in vitro. Penelitian ini silaksanakan di Laboratorium Pertanian, Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa dari Mei 2023 sampai Se[tember 2023. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktorial. faktor pertama yaitu varietas dengan Mas Kirana dan Cavendish grand naine (G9). Faktor kedua adalah lama penggelapan yaitu tanpa penggelapan, 1, 2, dan 4 minggu penggelapan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa waktu munculnya tunas dimulai pada 1,83 Minggu Setelah Tanam (MST) dengan perlakuan varietas Cavendish grand naine tanpa penggelapan. Perlakuan jenis varietas memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap parameter jumlah daun 4 MST dengan varietas terbaik adalah Cavendish grand naine. Perlakuan lama penggelapan memberikan pengaruh nyata pada parameter tinggi tunas 6 dan 8 MST. Terdapat interaksi antara faktor perlakuan varietas dan lama penggelapan memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap parameter jumlah tunas 4, 6 dan 8 MST, tinggi tunas 4 MST serta jumlah daun 8 MST.
