Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' mathematical problem solving ability in the Merdeka curriculum and 2013 curriculum, based on Polya's theory. This research was conducted at SMAN 2 Jonggol which implemented the Merdeka curriculum and SMAN 2 Gunung Putri which implemented the 2013 curriculum. This study used qualitative research with a narrative design. The results showed that students of class X MIPA 5 SMAN 2 Gunung Putri had better mathematical problem solving ability based on Polya's theory than students of class X 8 SMAN 2 Jonggol. Factors that influence this include the selection of MIPA majors in the 2013 curriculum, there are 2 mathematics lessons in the MIPA major in the 2013 curriculum, namely mandatory and specialization mathematics. While the Merdeka curriculum does not have a major selection, and begins to provide advanced math subject choices in grades XI and XII. In addition, differences in mathematical problem solving abilities also occur due to differences in the experience of the mathematics learning process in the Merdeka curriculum and the 2013 curriculum when learning takes place in the classroom.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa pada Kurikulum Merdeka dan Kurikulum 2013, berdasarkan teori Polya. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMAN 2 Jonggol yang mengimplementasikan Kurikulum Merdeka dan SMAN 2 Gunung Putri yang mengimplementasikan Kurikulum 2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan desain naratif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas X MIPA 5 SMAN 2 Gunung Putri memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika berdasarkan teori Polya lebih baik dari siswa kelas X 8 SMAN 2 Jonggol. Faktor yang mempengaruhi hal tersebut di antaranya adalah pemilihan jurusan MIPA pada Kurikulum 2013, terdapat 2 pelajaran matematika pada jurusan MIPA Kurikulum 2013 yaitu matematika wajib dan peminatan. Sementara Kurikulum Merdeka tidak ada pemilihan jurusan, dan mulai memberikan pilihan mata pelajaran matematika lanjutan pada kelas XI dan XII. Selain itu, perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika juga terjadi karena perbedaan pengalaman proses belajar matematika pada Kurikulum Merdeka dan Kurikulum 2013 saat pembelajaran berlangsung di dalam kelas.
