Abstract

Utilization of fertilizer from leaf waste in the surrounding environment is very important. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer (POC) melinjo leaves (Gnetum gnemon) on the growth of green spinach plants (Amaranthus sp.) hydroponically and then the facts of the research were applied to the concept of plant growth and development in the form of teaching material content. The research method used was an experiment with an environmental design that is a complete randomized design (CRD) of three treatments and three repetitions. The treatments in this study consisted of: P0 (100% AB Mix), P1 (100% POC melinjo leaves), and P2 (50% POC melinjo leaves + 50% AB Mix). The average growth of green spinach plants at 28 days after planting was analyzed using prerequisite tests (Shapiro-Wilk normality test and Levene homogeneity test), hypothesis tests (Kruskal-Walis test and Anova test), and further tests (Mann Whitney). The results showed that the nutrient content of melinjo leaf POC was low so that green spinach growth was not optimal, but from the results of the Kruskal Wallis test the use of melinjo leaf POC produced 2 different data, also using the parameters of plant growth, root length, and leaf width. As for the growth observation parameters of plant height, number of leaves, plant fresh weight, and plant dry weight, there were no differences in the average observation parameters between treatments, as well as the results of the Anova test on the total chlorophyll content of green spinach plants. Furthermore, the facts in the form of research processes and results can be applied as recommendations for the content of biology teaching materials on the concept of plant growth and development in teaching materials. The teaching materials developed in this study is learning module.

Additional Information: Pemanfaatan pupuk dari limbah daun di lingkungan sekitar sangatlah penting. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh pupuk organik cair (POC) daun melinjo (Gnetum gnemon) pada pertumbuhan tanaman bayam hijau (Amaranthus sp.) secara hidroponik dan selanjutnya fakta-fakta penelitian diaplikasikan pada konsep pertumbuhan dan perkembangan tumbuhan dalam bentuk konten bahan ajar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan desain lingkungan yaitu rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) tiga perlakuan dan tiga kali pengulangan. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari: P0 (100% AB Mix), P1 (100% POC daun melinjo), dan P2 (50% POC daun melinjo+50% AB Mix). Rata-rata pertumbuhan tanaman bayam hijau pada 28 hari setelah tanam dianalisis menggunakan uji prasyarat (uji normalitas Shapiro-Wilk dan uji homogenitas Levene), uji hipotesis (uji Kruskal-Walis dan uji Anova), dan uji lanjut (Mann Whitney). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kandungan hara POC daun melinjo rendah sehingga pertumbuhan bayam hijau tidak optimal, namun dari hasil uji Kruskal Wallis penggunaan POC daun melinjo menghasilkan 2 data yang berbeda yaitu pada parameter pertumbuhan tanaman panjang akar, dan lebar daun. Adapun pada parameter pengamatan pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, berat basah tanaman, dan berat kering tanaman tidak menghasilkan perbedaan rata–rata parameter pengamatan antar perlakuan, begitu juga dengan hasil uji Anova terhadap kadar klorofil total tanaman bayam hijau. Lebih lanjut, fakta berupa proses dan hasil penelitian dapat diaplikasikan sebagai rekomendasi konten bahan ajar biologi pada konsep pertumbuhan dan perkembangan tanaman dalam bahan ajar. Bahan ajar yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini berupa modul pembelajaran.
